So I ran two wires into my truck, both connected to the abs fuse terminals, and wired them into a switch with the fuse in the circuit. I start my truck with the circuit closed, then I open the circuit and the abs light comes on like it should, but it doesn't go back off, and the abs doesn't start working again unless I restart my truck. Does this make sense? And is there anything to change this?

sounds about right. You will just have to restart your truck after doing this. Probably no way around it. So, does it really make a difference in the acceleration?
