There is a delay from when I turn the knob until the blower actually turns on. Just a few seconds but it's definitely noticeable, especially as the summer gets warmer. In my past rigs the blower came on immediately. Is this delay normal or the start of a potential problem? Thanks in advance

It's normal. Not sure why but all of the new Dodge, Ram, Jeeps I have driven do this. Might have to do with taking some of the load off of the electrical at startup.

Like Bobbo said, normal. These newer vehicle with can bus systems are module controlled through the bus and not direct switched. When you are powered off after awhile, the whole system returns to neutral positions. When you then power back on, they have to talk to the various modules and switch positions and switch back accordingly.

Thanks for the confirmation. They need to make that go away because those 2.7 seconds of inconvenience make me want to flip a desk :)

Sucks the most on hot days when you are not getting the instant air flow on the front vents.

As to making it go away, Just is not going to happen so you better find your peace with it or a drug habit to deflect your angst.

My 2013 1500 just started doing this. Some
Times it is several minutes. Is that normal?

Old post, but No, not normal.
Most common cause is either fan resistor going bad or HVAC control module. Stick with OEM parts, knockoffs are flaky.

Factory 8.4 radio?= Separate HVAC module behind passenger air vent.

Factory 3" or 5" radio?= Module is part part of the radio bezel/3 knob controls.
