FYI there seems to be an accessories computer glitch on 2013-2015 Ram 1500 4x4 Crew Cab 6.4 foot bed trucks. Both on Mopar.com and at dealer parts counters.

I just purchased a new 2014 Ram 1500 4x4 CC with a 6.4 foot bed. Every time I try to purchase accessories I'm told by the parts counters at two different dealerships and Mopar.com they don't fit my truck. It doesn't matter if I input my VIN or select 2014 1500 4x4 CC 6.4 foot bed from the list.

Example: Bed accessories, there are 8 bed accessories listed for a Quad Cab with a 6.4 foot bed, bed mats and liners, bed rails, etc. Yet the only bed accessory listed for a Crew Cab 6.4 foot bed is a tailgate cover. Seriously there's no bed liner for a CC 6.4 foot bed? I think not. I know for a fact the Bedrug fits both CC and QC with a 6.4 foot bed.

Same story on running boards, according to the computer there's only 1 cab length running board listed as fitting the CC with a 6.4 foot bed, there are no wheel to wheel running boards listed.

The one that is listed as fitting also fits a CC with a 5.7 foot bed, the mounting brackets are exactly the same. Make sense both are CC and its a cab length running board. Yet another cab length running board with exactly the same mounting brackets according to the computer doesn't fit simply because I have a 6.4 foot bed vs the 5.7 foot bed.

Talking to the dealer parts counter people is like talking to a brick wall, if the VIN says it doesn't fit your truck they throw their hands up.

Anyway I thought you all might want to know.

The bed accessories not being cross listed, doesn't make any sense to me. I assume the 6'4" bed is the same for all cabs.
Are all the running boards you are looking at all cab length or are some of them the wheel to wheel boards and just not identified as such?
The extra 9" of bed length, is it before or after the wheel well? Or is it a combination of both?

Exactly, according to the computer Ram doesn't offer any kind of bed mat or bed liner for a CC 6.4 foot bed? That's pretty much bunk.

I was comparing cab length running boards hence a CC running board should fit all CC's regardless of bed length. The wheel to wheel running boards will obviously vary by cab/bed length.

I ended up buying these last out of frustration arguing with the parts counter people. When I opened the box at home these running boards were completely different than the ones they had on display they said I was buying. lol I like these better plus they were $225 less than the running boards I wanted to buy so cool!

These have 4 bolts per bracket vs 2 bolts per bracket on the boards they had on display. Also 2 foot pads vs one long pad on the displayed boards and the display running boards seemed to hang down lower than these.

Textured coating close up, these are aluminum tubes btw.

Bracket close up, not as stout as the 2 bolt bracket but I think they will be more rigid with the 4 bolt mounting.

Did you also get the mounting kit for these boards? I took the stock (chrome) running boards off my '14 CC with 6'4" bed and the dealership is selling them for me. Coming from the factory, the frame has pre-installed threaded mounting inserts that the board mounting bolts install into for the4-bolt brackets. They are permanent when coming from the factory and anyone who installs factory running boards needs to get the factory mounting kit to install them (or so the dealer told me). Just curious if that was the case with you.

These running boards included the bolts, RIV nuts (threaded inserts) and RIV nut installation tool in the box you don't have to buy any of that separately. Ask me why I have an extra RIV nut installation tool...the idiot behind the parts counter told me it wasn't included. Anyway there are 24 bolts, 12 8mm bolts that go through the running boards into the RIV nuts and 12 6mm bolts that go through the pinch weld and into a threaded nut on the running boards.

These running boards are rock solid with 24 bolts, I installed them last night. They sit higher off the ground than the other style 2 bolt per bracket running boards. The bottom of the running board brackets are about even with the skid plates under the truck. I don't feel I lost any ground clearance.

Can you take pictures with them on your truck!?

I just installed them night before last, here are some pics from the install maybe I'll take more after I wash the truck. They work really well I'm quite happy with them.

Note the retained ground clearance, more on that below. These are 5" powder coated aluminum ovals, steel mounting brackets, 4 bolts per bracket x 3 brackets, these things are rock solid they don't flex.

The front of the boards are bent in somewhat towards the cab, I'm guessing for looks. They also come with black end caps already installed.

They don't stick out too far, maybe an inch from the tires. I saw some 6" boards that stuck way the hell out.

Here you see the running board mounting bracket on the far side, its about even with the frame cross members and higher even than the skid plates. This is another reason I chose these vs the other Mopar running boards that have only 2 bolts per bracket. The other style running boards come with a warning, not for off-road use, reduced ground clearance, and look like they hang down lower to the ground than the ones I installed.

Those look great! The tend to mix stuff up when it's a new model year.... Really annoying sense it's just commin sense. The 6.4 bed is the same on all the trucks. Quad cab, crew cab, reg cab and also on all the HD trucks same bed( all 4th gen ) the only situation the part# wouldn't interchange is wheel to wheel steps other wise you can order bed liners or a quad cab 6.4 bed or reg cab 6.4 bed and it would fit and anything for you cab order it as a 5.7 bed untill the get there stuff fixed. And by the way love the garage/shop set up nicely to do some metal working!

And yet the parts counter guys argued trying to convince me the 6,4 beds were all different depending on VIN/trim even within the 2014 model year lol it was like talking to a brick wall.

Thanks, I recently sold off all my wood working machines and converted to metal working. A Haas CNC TM-1P or Mini Mill 2 is inbound ETA probably this fall.
