Have a regular cab 2014 ram 1500 sport with 310000km on it, started with the hemi tick this spring and it's been running fine ever since. Doesnt lack power, fuel mileage hasn't changed and no check engine lights. It is getting to the time where I'd rather not be stranded.

I found a great deal on a 2024 hemi that came out of a Durango that was in a train derailment / insurance write off with less than 50 km on it. Had 4 of them to pick from.

Planning to swap this 2024 5.7 into my 2014 this winter, I understand I will need to use some parts from my 2014 such as the water pump, front cover, intake manifold, oil pan, oil pick up and dipstick as well as the oil filter housing and the "bushing" in the transmission/flywheel. Also most of the sensors will have to be swapped from my understanding.

Is anyone aware of any other parts not listed above that will need to swapped over as well?

Any information is appreciated!

It would be a bummer to replace a perfectly good engine. Have you ruled out a broken exhaust manifold bolt?

That's sort of the plan now. Work slows up the first few weeks of January and I'll have plenty of time whether I want it or not. Swap will happen then if it lasts that long.

It isn't an exhaust manifold bolt, definitely a lifter.

Did you get it off Robertus Hreodbeorht or Natty Stefan in Calgary? You'll need a new oil pan gasket/windage tray to match the oil pick-up tube

That year Durango uses the car version 5.7, you would be down about 20-30 hp due to the cam difference.

I think alot of the horsepower differance is more due to the dual runner intake manifold and tuning the trucks have plus the exhaust then it is the slight cam differances

Definitely a combo but there is enough of a difference that is still the lion's share of it vs tuning & the intake.
