Hello all! Does anyone have any personal experience with ACES IV? When I was researching my valve seat issue I stumbled upon it in one of the Charger forums. Supposidly it boosts the octane of the fuel as well as lubricate the valves. Apparently you just add it to your tank whenever you fill up. I've put MMO in the tank before and had all of my vehicles hit 100k with no issues.

Here's a link: ACES IV Gasoline Formula Fuel Catalyst

Please let me know your experiences or opinions... Thanks!

octane booster= snake oil:)

Yeah you're probably right! If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is...

I'm just looking for a good upper cylinder lubricant. I don't want to go through what I'm going through right now with the dealer ever again!

The only octane booster that I have seen that actually does anything is Torco. However, fuel octane has nothing to do with lubrication. Octane rating is just the resistance to spontaneous combustion from heat/pressure. The higher the octane, the more heat/pressure it can withstand before combustion. Also, higher octane burns slower and allows for more advanced timing because the flame front moves slower.

As for lubrication of the valves. You really aren't going to find any chemicals to add to fuel that will help. Short of changing the valve and guide materials, you won't be able to do anything short of using higher quality fuels and fuel system cleaner every now and again.

That's cuz torco is race gas. It's not a octane booster per say. Its just comes in higher octanes.

What are your thoughts on Marvel Mystery Oil in the fuel as an upper cylinder lubricant?

A lot of the guys on the Charger forums use Aces IV and say it works really well as a top end lubricant and also boosts mpg pretty good. I figured up the cost once and with the expected mpg increase and the cost of the Aces, it was a wash.
