Just an FYI: Seen a lot of discussions about actual loads on 1500's and now I know what mine is good for. I went to the recycle yard today with a load of scrap steel. Weighed in and out, no driver, 3/4 tank of fuel (26 gal tank), and small tool bag plus tire chains onboard. My truck weighed out at 5360#---their scales are supposedly calibrated. My door sticker label says GVW is 6800#. So with just my 210# plus maybe a full tank of gas, my legal added payload would be right at 1200#.
My truck is the 2019 1500 Classic Warlock, Quad cab, V6 gas engine, 4X4, bone stock. It has the 3.55 gears with LSD so is rated for 7,400# towing in some lists, 7,240# in others. Those same lists show the payload capacity for my truck at 1800#. I imagine there are other lists with other numbers.
