I didn't see a thread for this so I am posting this. Sorry if I missed it somewhere.
I want to add an amplifier to my 2017 Ram that I just added and 8.4 RA3 radio to.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have an Infinity system or not? If you do, it isn’t as simple as it is with a regular system.

Being an SLT, should be base audio, dont think Alpine was available.

OP;

some amplifier manufactures have amps that hook directly to the high level of your radio, some need an LOC. (line out converter)
Or you can get speaker wires to RCA, but yes, its rather easy in your truck.

Thanks for the reply.
It came with the base 6 speaker system with the 5" radio. I swapped the radio to the 8.4 but found I still want more power with the new Rockford Fosgate 6x9 speakers I installed in the doors

Yes, check out Crutchfield or your local radio shop or Best Buy. Crutchfield will probably give you the best and most helpful answers before you buy anything

Yes Crutchfield will help with everything you need. If you purchase speakers from them, they give you the adapters, etc for the install.

Already replaced all the speakers with Rockford Fosgate 6x9s and put a RA3 radio in, just needs something more.

2 places tried to sell some fancy equipment. Theory is that the radio starts to trim the bass at high levels. I call ******** i did just fine by tapping into the passenger b pillar.

I only had issues with the amp auto turn on that uses offset voltage. It would cut out at higher volume. MTX couldnt solve my problem so i bought some adaptor that senses offset and sends 12 volts to the remote on on the amp.

Next question....What is the best 4 channel amp to use then?
I have always like the Alpine, and the Kenwood myself.

I’ve had 2 Kenwoods and had great luck and performance from them. I just bought a Rockville amp for my boat and hooked up 2 6.5” Infinity 2 way speakers and an Alpine 10” Type S subwoofer and that amp really packs some punch for very little money. I got in from Amazon.

the votes are endless, how much power, how much is the budget?

Me, I did the Kicker KEY1804, 45x4 and about the size a phone.

$199

You’re absolutely right about the votes being endless! Everyone has their taste and will want to throw their 2 cents in. In the end it’s up to you what you want. For the most part, you get what you pay for. I wasn’t too worried about what I spent for my boat as we don’t spend much time on it and the engine overpowers it most of the time. It was just a lucky find. It comes down to budget and how much power you really need to make the subs sound good.

I am rockin the REN in my 09 factory 6 speaker setup. Infinity Refs for the front and Kappas for the rear. Waiting on a soundstream PN4.520 to arrive. Gonna power them with that and mount under the radio behind the bezel. I thought about the stealth line but this will be nice for what I am looking for.
