Hi all first post on the forums I have a very odd situation hopefully someone can help

*paint the picture*
I have a 2017 RAM 1500 tradesman that came with the Uconnect RA2 5” display. I’ve upgraded the entire interior as well as the head unit to the Uconnect 4C UAQ back in February.

Everything has worked perfectly fine as of last night. I started my truck and siriusXM is not in the media sources to select.

I have religiously been searching forums and websites and see that siriusXM vanishing from the source tab has happened to others. I’ve tried everything to disconnecting the battery 24hrs, pulling radio fuse, soft and hard resets, clearing all settings/resetting the head unit, and restoring the truck from a previous backup with alfaobd before this all started. Nothing has worked.

When I hookup alfaobd, I can connect to the head unit and force siriusXM to launch from alfaobds “Mode Selection” but it times out after 10-15 seconds. When I do that, SiriusXM works exactly like it used to and all my preset channels are there, until it times out.

Any help would be extremely appreciated
Software version of radio is 20.04.19

I am very experienced with alfaobd for reference

Do a search on the forum and see what the process is (I forget what it is) to do a hard reset on the Uconnect. Or get a hold of @SitKneelBend and ask him.

He is the resident Uconnect GURU...

I fixed that username for you. The L escaped.

Odd, the link doesn't function in the quote window without editing the bb code. @SitKneelBend

IF you have recently disconnected power from the radio, it is common for the SXM button to disappear. How long has it been since the last power disconnect?

@SitKneelBend I read that on another forum disconnecting the battery can remove XM.
It’s very odd because my last power disconnect was a few months ago when I replaced my steering wheel (battery disconnected to remove the airbag). Even a few months ago when I reconnected the battery I didn’t loose XM. Everything worked fine up until recently I got in my truck and no XM.

I disconnected my battery and let the truck sit for about 11 hours yesterday. I’ve since reconnected the battery and all my settings have restored except for XM

It can take several power cycles/hours after removing power for it to reappear. Give it a full 24hrs. IN addition, it's been a while since I've had an RA2, are the inputs editable with a sub menu of less used inputs (maybe it moved to the sub menu)?

I used to have the RA2, I upgraded it to the Panasonic Uconnect 4C UAQ 8.4” back in February. I see the submenu you’re referring to, XM is not there. I will give it a few days and post a reply back here if anything changes
Do you have AlfaOBD? Also, what is the application version of the radio from the dealer menu?

@SitKneelBend I do have alfaobd I am very familiar with it. Application version of the Uconnect is “USA-ASO-8.4-JR-34.2.0-20200123-J0M2”
Software version of the Uconnect is “20.04.19”
Shot me a PM with your gmail address, you can upgrade to 40.1 and that might fix it.

That is odd. I have disconnected battery a number of times and it never pooched the SXM

Update!
I installed the software update supplied by @SitKneelBend today and my radio took the update fine but had no XM after the reboot. Fast forward to when I got home from work, I let the truck sit off for 20 minutes and upon restart, XM is back in the source tab!! Thank you everyone for helping out especially @SitKneelBend !!
