I just bought a very clean, gently used (turns out it was a 'toad' behind a motor home) 2019 Ram 2500. Excellent condition, and only 59,000 miles. It's got the Bighorn package (which I had on my recently traded-in 2019 Ram 1500 Classic) but not quite all the same bells and whistles - including NO fog lamps. The dealership told me the plastic 'blanks' in the bumper can be knocked out and that the harnesses for fog lamps are there in the bumper. The light switch has the push-button for fog lamps incorporated within it, and if you push it, it lights up a fog lamp icon on the dash - just like my other one did. (Only it's orange instead of green; perhaps because working fog lamps aren't present?)
Anyway, I want to add some fog lamps. I can't find specifics on older posts, so any information would be helpful. Can I safely assume the harness leads for fog lamps are present, and if so, work with the same 'push' button feature in the center of the light switch? Are there aftermarket fog lamps that will plug and play into said harness, or do you have to adapt them three ways from Thursday?
Thanks!

If the fog light button illuminates the fog light icon on the EVIC, it sounds like you're good to go, wiring-wise.

My '21 Warlock came equipped with LED fog lights, but they're not really fog lights, more like running lights.
They're great for lighting up the ditches on country roads, but relatively useless in fog.

The cutoff line is far too low unless you're travelling at about 5 mph or less.
And the 5000K bright white causes intense reflection in fog.

I plan to add external fog lights on the front bumper and maintain the driving lights for those rare solo occasions when I want to light the ditches. We have too many suicidal critters where I live.

If you search the threads for fog light builds, you will find many posts.

Rereading your post ... What's your VIN? (Typed out ALL CAPs)

It sounds like you're saying your truck already has all the wiring in place, including the bumper/jumper harness between the two fogs, dash switch, etc and has the code enabled to trigger the dash indicator when pressed. And fogs may have been removed related to the front tow setup?

Note : please don't confuse the rear cargo/center bed lamp button with the upgraded split version that had both the cargo lamp and the fog button in the middle.

** The blanking plates suggest your truck didn't come with fogs (can be verified with your Vin), and if so, it won't have any of the needed wiring. **

If it turns out you don't have the wiring, correct switch, fogs, etc and...

If you haven't bought anything yet, Here's a direct link to the kits Ramforum.com vendor AllmoparParts setup for forum members (still requires our M2 Mods custom BCM extension harness). As close to a factory install as you can get.

Thanks Michael. I did find many posts; I was more curious about recommendations and if my wiring (which seems to be fully compatible) is good to go. My 1500 had 'fog' lights, and to your point, they were more like low-positioned running lights or something. I live in a very rural area with lots of deer and usually had them on as they did reveal those suicidal animals on the sides of the road. Don't know that I've ever had true fog lights though. Thanks again!

Thanks. I haven't yet purchased anything; just started the investigation. I believe my 2500 is a Gen 4. My 1500 certainly was as it was the 'Classic' 2019 version. Because I had the Gen 4 Classic, the fiberglass cap shop I use told me the cap I had on my 2019 1500 (which I kept) will fit the 2500 - also a 2019. I have a hoist system in my garage and lifted it off my previous truck, and did some side-to-side and front-to-back measurements, and it appears it will indeed fit just fine. It's granite gray metallic, and I think will look fine on my bright white 2500. (Plus, I'll be able to find it in deep snow. ) I'll check the links above for the fog lights. Thanks again.

My VIN is 3C6UR5DJ0KG612955. Again, the dealership claimed the truck likely had the wiring in place for fog lights. My light switch on this is exactly like what it was on my 1500 - the center of the rotating knob (off, headlights, running/parking lights, and auto) has only a single push-button feature with the fog light icon. It may indeed be the previous owner removed the fog lights because of the toad hardware. (It's got the break-away break module, a plug for the tail lights/turn signals, and where the standard tow hooks were, it's got the round receivers for the towing tongue. Also an 'Invisible Brake' module under the front seat - all of which I'm going to remove at some point.) Thanks!NewRam.jpg

You're most welcome.

I drove home last night with thick fog, and was reminded that I need to add good quality fog lights.

I would suggest you follow Mpgrimm2's recommendations. This is another area of his expertise.

@Mando Mark
Your 2019 2500 is considered a 5th Gen truck even though it has the same cab & bed as a 4th Gen it's been updated (more like a 4.5 Gen).

Here's your build sheet and your Window Sticker.
As expected the dealer was incorrect. Your truck didn't come with fogs and you won't have the wiring or the correct dash switch, etc and will need everything I mentioned in the prior post.

Send me a message/start a conversation if you'd like to get things started on the Foglight BCM harness and I'll get you squared away. (Or head over to www.M2Mods4Ram.com)

My VIN is 3C6UR5DJ0KG612955.

You can view your equipment listing by entering the VIN at the link below.
No fog lights listed.

My light switch on this is exactly like what it was on my 1500 - the center of the rotating knob (off, headlights, running/parking lights, and auto) has only a single push-button feature with the fog light icon.

My headlight switch was made for the Canadian market and has no off position.

If you can illuminate the fog light indicator icon using the headlight switch, I would crawl under the bumper to look for fog light wiring.
