My hood open light has started staying on all of a sudden. Put in a new latch/switch assembly & it still does it. I have read that corroded or bad wiring can cause this as well. Everything looks good at the front of the truck, but the wiring goes into a bigger loom back to the cab so it's next to impossible to track it after that. Anybody else have this issue with a fix? 2022 Ram 3500 w/Cummins out of warranty of course.

If you cannot find the short, cause it is buried somewhere, you could always put a "dead" switch in line, on/off switch something you have to manually turn on/off to stop power going to the light. Not the aha answer, but at least keep the hood light off till you can find the problem, just a thought.

How would I wire up a dead switch? I tried to use a jumper from one side of the terminal to the other but that didn't do anything.

Mine works by raising the hood, by lifting it turns it on, the spring came off and that's what left it on/off, check that first.

To be honest the hood lights in these trucks are useless not even bright enough. I would unhook it and forget about it keep a good rechargeable hood light in your door.

Yep. Disconnect it and/or install a decent set of L.E.D. on a manual switch or a mercury-switch.

I keep a rechargeable LED flashlight in that opening below the door closing handle. $5 at Dollarama with an 18650 Lithium battery.

I also carry an LED headlamp in a clothes pack when out visiting. Twas about $23 on Amazon with two 18650 Lithium batteries.

You could replace it with a LED light that has a built in switch. The power is already there with the current under hood light. Something on this order,
