Hello,
I am hoping that maybe someone on here can answer this for me as I have reached out to the local dealer I purchased my truck at and they never get back to me with a Yes or a No and just ghosts me with "Ill check with the tech".
I bought a 2025 RAM 2500 BigHorn (my first RAM, but I've owned a number of Jeeps and heavily modified them all) when i purchased this it never occurred to me to check for proximity door handle unlock as being an option and not a standard on a brand new 2025. So far I love the truck but I really miss this function and would have bought a higher trim had the salesman pointed out this is a difference between this Bighorn and a Laramie I was looking at when asked.
Researching this I can physically add the handle, wiring harnesses and modules for proximity unlocking. The issue seems to be the sales code and adding it as a working function. I've been following the AlphaODB items and see that the newer 5th gens changed the BCM system and it hasn't been cracked yet for me to add this myself. Reading online this option seems to be a factory/dealer installed sales code option that needs added to the truck on the Bighorn models.
My question is this: Does anyone know CAN a dealer add this or am I chasing down something that even they cannot do? I realize there would be a cost to it if possible and I am willing to pay it for the convenience. Heck, I would even pay the price for them to do the whole install if it means adding it. I just cant get anyone to actually tell me if its possible. If not, I will just have to wait until the system is cracked and I can add it myself.
Thanks everyone!
