So a couple months ago I had my driver side mirror ripped off. When that happened my outside temp gauge was stuck at -40 degrees until I had it replaced. My new temp is consistently 5-7 degrees warmer than actual air temp, regardless of how long my truck has been running.

I'm not really concerned about it being wrong but figured if there was a way to fix it I'd try it so if anyone has any ideas or ways to fix it, please let me know.

Thanks.

1) if the sensor is sitting in direct sunlight, than its going to be off by anywhere from 5-20 degrees. I Know, bc i have a thread complaining about how poor the location of the sensor is for the heated seats and steering wheel when exposed to direct sunlight. A few weeks ago i picked up on this on a day when it was 28 degrees out, when i did my autostart and came outside, the trucks display said it was 42 degrees and none my heated features turned on ( they turn on at 40 degrees and below ). I was quite annoyed. Upon further testing, this temperature issues was found to be caused when the driver side mirror was exposed to direct sunlight. Many others chimed in as well that they have the same issue.

2) If your issue is not what i described in #1 above, go to the dealer and have the system re-flashed, i have read others having success when the sensor was off by a few degrees, even when not in direct sunlight.

Yeah it's not direct sunlight issue. I frequently/daily drive after dark and it has no affect on the temp being off. This only started after my drivers side mirror was replaced, unfortunately by a local body shop and not a dealer. Learned my lesson and should have taken it to the dealer for the work.
