I have installed this head unit:

6.2 Inch Single Din Android 4.4 Car Radio DVD Player GPS For Jeep / Dodge /Chrysler

It's a 'nice' unit has some neat features etc. But you often get what you pay for. The unit is supported from China and that creates a language barrier/communication issue along with time difference delays. That said, they have been helpful but I cannot get some things to work properly.

My EOM unit is a 'RES' model w/o nav but does have SWC.

I have connected the backup up cam to the 'AV-IN' feed and it works but cam is always powered on. Without having run run a wire from rear of truck for the unit to work as a reverse cam I need to locate the reverse wire in the dash/console area. There is a plug near the shifter that probably has the reverse trigger wire that would be convenient. Does anyone know which wire at the shifter that would work as a reverse trigger? The plug has these numbers on it 1--1419158--4 and 101333.

Also SWC is not a die for option but I cannot get them to work with HU, the HU can with a canbus (see pics in the link) so I would think it should work. My Chinese support friends tell me the canbus may not be capatible.
I am pretty sure the harness to HU is a 6522 shell. From what I can tell pin 1 and pin 13 are the SWC wires. If you have any input I would appreciate it.

Thanks..

Wiring guide for SWC. http://contentdocs.installernet.com/documents/vehicle/10895.pdf

This not a canbus SWC, it is resistance based.

Those units work 50% of the time. I usually try to talk customers out of them because it becomes nothing but a headache for us.

Highly doubt reverse is by the shifter. Usually in the kick or at BCM. I can't access that diagram currently. Worst case you tag it directly at the reverse light.

This is for a 2010.. your car may be different.

Yes, it's been a headache/learning experience. I don't mind spending some time and figuring thing out. I like the challenge.

Thanks for posting the links...yes it is pin 2, not pin 1 as I stated (my memory is not so good).

I will probably just pull wire from reverse connection in rear, but just wanted to know of a shortcut..

What is differnce between canbus and resistance?

A Canbus SWC system would be pretty much all digital. Where resistance, sends a resistance signal to the radio. You press a button and it reads say 2k ohms, then the radio reads that and performs the correct function.

Thanks for the explanation..

So, hopefully one last question...if I buy the Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Adapter, do you know would it work with this head unit?

Does the radio have a 3.5mm jack for SWC? Or does it have a Blue/Yellow wire marked for the SWC?

No 3.5mm jack.

One wire labeled Key 2 is brown.

There is a wire diagram on top of unit indicating two swc wires (both brown) but there is only one actually that I can find that is labeled (key 2) and only 1 brown wire...lol

I have requested a full explanation of all the wires they use...maybe that will shed some light on it.

Yes, that would probably work according the wire diagram on top of unit...(see pic attached)

BUT, the actual wires I have do not match this diagram...(only 1 brown wire)...

If they send me the correct wire diagram maybe I can use it and the ASWC unit..but of course I would like to feel reasonably sure it wil work before I buy one. Maybe I will contact Axxess to find out.

Do you have a picture of the wires coming out? There is typically a few small gauge wires similar to the brown wire. And do they have any label tags on them?

Highly doubt Axxess would know... their support sucks lol. Pick one up at Best Buy that way you know you can return it for your money back worst case scenario.

It may be like a Kenwood radio. Kenwood's you only hook up to the brown wire on the ASWC.

Here is the wire diagram they sent me. It looks to be correct as far as matching the wires I see. I assume the comments are telling me that I just don't connect the SWC1 to brown wire and SWC2 to brown/black wire and expect to work.

"4: Brown wire: KEY 1, steering wheel control wire, connect with the positive steering wheel control wire from your car. Please
note it can only support resistance based steering wheel control buttons to work, if your car have can bus system, it will not support"

Not sure if your is the same but 2013+ the trigger is @ the BCM C-5 SOCT 45 Orange and Purple wire ... the BCM C-5 connector is clearly Labeled " E " fyi.
Hope this helps .

Try to Google the vin # spacific techauthortychrysler wireing diagrams.
