Just installed this last week. Looks much better but reception is as good as stock. Seen this from another member who had installed this. Worth every penny!

I tried that antenna (have it sitting in my garage), the problem is the threads are not the same.

I bought a second antenna from the dealer, and cut mine down to about the same length as that (pry off the ball at the end, cut the antenna to desired length, grind the cut end so pressing the ball back on takes force).

It’s so easy to cut/modify the stock antenna and you get to decide what length you want plus it’s free

And a replacement stock antenna is <$20... I bought a back up in case the range isn't good with the cut stock, for road trips. It will take 2 minutes to swap (including getting the wrench out).

I really do 99% SiriusXM anyways, the only time I have actually listened to FM was just to test the antenna.

Antennas are the length they are for a reason. So its not really arbitrary. Certainly cutting the antenna will degrade performance. You can mitigate the performance degradation by cutting it exactly in half, or in half then in half again making a 1/4 wavelength antenna. If you listen to one radio station primarily or a couple in a very small frequency window, you can actually tune your antenna length for that smaller frequency window. You will just have to do the math to figure out the required length.
