Just installed my Carvens a couple weeks ago. The same thought crossed my mind, I'm gonna have them welded. Any cutting tool would make a whole lot more racket than a simple ratchet or wrench.

I had an exhaust tip only clamped on an F-250. Believe me, it was not easy to remove after having been clamped.

those look pretty sexy. thank you! also if you dont mind, do they make any differnce in sound if you have a catback already?

People say they make the exhaust sound a bit deeper. I installed the tips at the same time the Carven Progressive muffler was installed, so I can’t speak from experience.

I measured stock and Carven tips with a decibel meter. Cold start sound and rev to 2500 rpm was +2 db louder, to the ear they seem a little deeper but not substantially. I also used the decibel meter in the cab at WOT and found the same +2 db increase.

Tack welded... no fear of a clamp coming loose and the whole shebang falling off.

I went ahead and had mine tac welded on both sides of the clamp to be on the safe side.

Anyone elses end up slightly uneven? My drivers side tip doesn't quite stick out as much as the passenger side, it's barely noticeable but i did notice it. They are ball joints at the clamp so there's no real adjustment that can be done.
