It takes air in from the passenger fender well.
I’m concerned that you think the fender is some air tight space...
Front and back liner openings, fan shroud skims it around the heads/fender but you’re going to catch some radiant off the manifolds. Far from a true cold intake, but well designed and robust from the production floor throughout the globe climate variation.
2015 up have a cutout in a piece behind the grille on the lower left side to feed that air.

I see you have a 1500. Mine's a 2500. I don't see that piece. Nor do I see anything that feeds the fender for air.
6.4l gasDiesel or gas? The diesels have the Ram air setup that gets air from behind the grille as well as the inner fender.

Im fairly sure that’s only on the diesels with ram air. The 1500s still have it at the fender like this one below. It’s a 2018 1500 5.7. It takes air in from pretty much behind the passenger side headlight. There are some deflectors as well so it’s not going to get any heat from the manifolds.

I can only speak to my 2011 but that is also a 4 inch square portal in the inner fender panel feeding the intake to the filter box. I don't know where the air comes from up to that point but I do know that it is an excellent place to install some quarter inch square galvanized screening to keep the squirrels and chipmunks and their acorns out of your intake system. Works for me and only took about ten minutes to fab and install, simply wrapping it over the mouth of the male air tube end. Hope someone else benefits from this as I have. I used to have an abundance of trash in there. Since then virtually nothing.
