So I want to install and Air/Fuel ratio gauge in my A-pillar, along with a vacuum/boost gauge, and I'm curious, do I need a stand alone O2 sensor for that, or can I use one of the existing ones on the truck, kind of pigtail off of it? Would that cause issues? I believe these trucks have wideband O2 sensors from the factory. Thanks in advance.

The air/fuel gauge I bought from AutoMeter came with a new o2 sensor, ****, and wiring.

Yeah, I've purchase the same setup in the past for one of my mustangs. That car didn't have a factory wideband. What I'm wondering is if you can tap into the factory wideband to run the gauge without any negative effect. It would save me from having to drill the exhaust, weld the ****, and mount another wideband.

Sorry don't have an answer for that one. The stock o2 sensor has a pre-heater circuit and the o2 circuit is monitored by the pcm all the time. Could throw a code due to the added resistance? I don't know. The is a lot of piggy backing on the same wires in these new models. I myself wouldn't try it and keep all the factory wiring as is, but that's just me. I put the **** on the h pipe in my custom built dual exhaust on my 2004 and it worked very well for me.

Yeah, I was kindof thinking that I won't be able to get around welding in an additional ****, but if it was avoidable I'd sure prefer not to have to go through the hassle.

Now that I think about it, is anyone sure whether or not the factory sensors are wideband?

No, they're are narrowband.

Well crapola! There goes that idea. Has anyone tried to replace a stock O2 sensor with a wideband and use it to feed the PCM/ECU as well? I believe that's possible, I'm just not sure of the wiring schematics. If anyone has and has a schematic or description I would really appreciate it.

It is possible, yes.with vehicles that have oem wide bands or after market ecu's. Now whether or not it's possible to tweak our Pcm's for those values? You're going to have to ask a tuner. Go to modern muscle forum and post that question. Some of the best hemi tuners in the country live there, not to mention Mopar dragster.
