Okay.. sorry for the long thread, but I have tranny issues with this this truck... started out about 3 months ago tranny would shift really hard into 3rd or 4th not sure, and when you would slow almost to a stop maybe 5 mph if would shift down then lunge... then one day it started slipping into 3rd and basically just quit pulling so we bought a used tranny and installed it and everything was fine for a few months and all og a sudden the exact same sequence started happening again all of a sudden it acted like it was stuck in 2nd or 3rd and would not shift up or down, but would go from park to reverse with a hard bang and when you took it back to drive it was stuck in 2nd or 3rd.... took it to tranny shop A and they said it had internal damage and they prefer not to work on it so we went to pick it up to bring truck back to our shop and guess what it shifted fine as it should for a couple days and app 500 miles and then all of a sudden the same thing happened again so we took it to the dodge house and they kept it 2 days and a service writer called me back and was absolutely no help just said it needs a new transmission for $8900.... I asked what the failure was with the tranny and she said I reapet verbatim " my tech just said the fluid smells burnt and it needs a new tranny" I was infuriated that I had taken my truck to the folks that you would be the most knowledgeable with this issue and all I could get was the generic bs answer from someone who obviously new noting and completely wasted 2 days of my time... so we picked the truck up once again from Dodge and bought a used low mileage replacement and installed it and guess what exact same problems stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear.... all the exact same symptoms including banging into drive and reverse and still suck in gear... I have been thinking electrical all along because generally hard parts fail one time and one time only.... not to act right for a day or then fail again.... guys I really need some solid help with this.... it is my work truck and cannot return to work without it because I am in the towing bussiness....
