I have a '21 Ram 1500 DT.

I bought the KAOdtech bypass cable.

I have an ELM327 module that I used with my 2003 Ram and the Torque app.

I wanted to start with baby steps so I connected with AlfaOBD and locked and unlocked the doors. So that shows that I'm talking to the BCM.

I tried the seat belt chime but when I hit start it does nothing. Alfa says it is still enabled. I have a friend with the Obdlink mx+ but using his adapter did the same thing. So I don't think it is the adapter.

AlfaOBD procedure:

Connect to BT module

Ram 1500 (DS, DX, DT)
Instrument Panel
Instrument Panel Cluster
DT My2019+ PowerNet
>Connect

Program Customer Features
Seat belt Alert System
Disabled
>Start

Am I missing something?

Here is a list of what I want to do:

Disable seat belt chime (I've also tried the click it 3 times trick that is all over the internet but I think that Chrysler disabled that for 2021 as it did not work for me).

Disable Engine Start Stop

Enable trailer brake contoller

Add prox sensors to the door handles for keyless entry (I already have push to start)

Also does anyone have any procedures to my list above for a Ram DT?

Thanks in advance

I just got my 19 1500 DT. Waiting for my SGW module to arrive and I will post my results. I had great success using Alfa with my 14 Grand Cherokee. Also, Alexey at Alfa is pretty darn responsive when you have questions.

Bought 2021 in October, could some features working and others not. Examples, fog light dropout turned off but couldn't get global window down to work. Something else also but don't recall at moment. Global window down functioned on my 17 but it didn't require bypass.

So I took the risk and installed the trailer brake controller

Connect to the Body Computer and select Car configuration change.

Type in trailer in the search

There are 4 settings.

Change to enable/yes to the settings in the attached pictureScreenshot_20210406-103641_Gallery.jpg

I was able to get the seat belt chime to disable but not with alfaobd. I realized I had remote started the truck and it didn't like that when I did the click 3 times trick that I found on YouTube.

So it was operator error.

Still would like to disable the start stop option without having to push the button everytime.

Don't even waste your time trying to install a 7" EVIC and then trying to reprogram it. It will take the mileage and reduce a couple thousand miles...unable to get it to take the correct mileage. And as for the hours, the option isn't even in AlfaOBD for the 2020 DT models. Disappointing but not the end of the world.

I did some messing around with a 5th gen cluster in my 4th gen truck, and it seems like it needs a number right around 62% higher than the actual mileage to get you close. Then, you can tweak from there. To get the hours option to show up, you’ll need the windows version so you can go to advanced mode, and switch over to the MY2013+ powernet instrument panel (instead of the defaulted DT 2019+ selection).

Thanks for the tip as I'll give it a shot tomorrow. The windows version is what I purchased and have been utilizing but didn't know about going to the MY2013+ powernet instrument panel.

Thus far, I've been able to turn the tailgate down dash light alert on and it works fine. I've also been able to enable the fogs to be on with the high beams (unless I turn the fogs off) - rural Texas can be very dark at night. I tried the auto tilt mirrors in reverse but that didn't seem to work nor did the powerfold mirrors when you shut off the truck. My mirrors have powerfold but didn't seem to do anything in the way of folding when I locked the truck so I turned it back to "no".

You must have memory mirrors in order for tilt in reverse to work. Auto fold mirrors does not work on Rams (in the factory functioning form like they do on grand Cherokees).

Well, I got the mileage adjusted per your instructions...thank you!! Also, I received an email from Alexey overnight in which he stated there not currently no way to update the hours for a DT Ram...all you can do is set the mileage.

With that said, I now have a 7" EVIC available as I'm not about to run it with correct mileage but incorrect hours.
