AlfaOBD PCM VIN write failed

AlfaOBD with OBDlink MX+

I got a used PCM (5317110, 68170201AA) to fix a no charge problem. In AlfaOBD connecting to engine, MY3013+ it shows connected to Cummins MY2017. Under system ID it says model year 2020, and the ecm part number is 32370831AD, which isn’t a valid mopar part number as far as I can tell. The VIN comes back to a 2014. When I try to write VIN to the ECM I get procedure failed

Is this a PCM problem, or is there a way I can resolve the skim issue or the incorrect info on the PCM issue?

I doubt AlfaOBD is going to fix it.
Looks like someone programmed 2017 hardware with 2020 software.
Most likely need to trade it in for one already programmed correctly. Might as well get them to do the VIN.
You still have original PCM?

2017 should be revised to AB, from what I can gather.
Not sure why 2017 is coming up with AA

Perhaps contact a PCM cloning service, like these guys, or someone similar:

They use something like a OBD Star or x431 immo, to read all the eprom data from your old PCM and write it to the new one. The write should include the vin, skim key and the operating software, so the result will be plug n play.

I would also say it's been reprogrammed by someone before you got it.

Also, that part number is a Cummins number, not a mopar one, for an '18 engine
