Ok, got that done. It like a 1/4 page of changes I’ve made.

One thing, in the shared file for doing this, it says “Approach Lights Present”, I could not find that specific title. I did find a “Mirror Approach Light Present” so I turned that on. Everything else is exactly as the shared file.

"Mirror Approach lights present" is one of the required settings that makes the puddle lights work in the side view mirrors. I saw it listed as Approach Lights Present in the document somewhere also, but it's definitely listed in the tool as Mirror Approach Lights Present.

What radio did your truck come with and did you have a backup camera from the factory?

It came with RA2, but I installed an RA4. I had factory back up camera and it has always been on the radio.

That's one of the next things on my list... How much did the parts end up costing you for that?

About $150. Temp sensor, humidity sensor, 2018 Mopar harness (included humidity sensor and auto dim in one), $15 upgrade to the RA4 harness from M2 Mods.

Ironically everything was working fine until I tried to add the Auto Dim Mirror button to my radio and now the mirror does not work at all. Everything else is still working fine.

Ok then my theory is shot all to ####. The auto dim code that could not be turned on and off was primarily on trucks equipped with the RA1 radio or trucks that had the backup camera in the rear view mirror. I haven't seen a truck that came equipped with an RA2 radio with your setup have the auto dim rearview mirror work before enabling the code.

Mine came with RA2 as well and my auto dim/auto high beam mirror worked as auto dim out of the box. Kind of surprised me.

@WTM75 Have you been able to figure out your config, if so, can you upload it here or send it to me in a PM.

I have finally successfully completed the tire size change. After changing the size in the BCM on restart I would get dashes and errors on the EVIC. Then went in to ABS and was hooking up to the wrong option. Once I was hooked up to the correct option it would give me a error of unrecognized ecu. Went ahead and pushed thru (on the advice of the programmer Alexey) and then followed the ABS initialization process and programmed to the correct tire size.

Maybe it's something to do with the year. My auto dim didn't work at all until I enabled the code and that seemed to pretty much be how they all were when they came with the RA2. Since your trucks are comparable maybe you can find a difference in your BCM files.

I have also been working on the Aux switches. I can NOT get them to show up in either the radio or EVIC. I can however change how they work in the BCM car configuration settings. Not sure what I need to do to get them in the radio or EVIC. I have picked the 1-4 switch option in the CSM. This was an upgrade with 4th gen electronics switch panel.

One thing I am noticing, when i go in to the Alpha Program, it says I have selected everything to yes. When looking at my log(which I just did) it says No. Maybe it is just going to take a while for the computer to update??

Make sure you are looking at the WHOLE log...it looks like when it gets uploaded if you created one and then another, you'll see one big file that has BOTH logs in it. So the first set of values wont necessarily be the same as the most up to date.

I’m in both the ID and the log right now and they do not match. One says yes and the other says no. Does it just need more time for the computer to reboot? It’s been over an hour, but I see where it can take s couple days.

Ok so I am thinking about doing remote start. I have the 2017 Express. I have tip start.

1. Installed hood latch
2. Installed harness and pinned under the dash.
3. Replaced overlays for my regular remote.
4. Have alpha software.

My thinking on this would be.

Add all remote start options using alpha software. (Anyone have a list that I should change? I am guessing remote start, vta and hood latch. Any others? Any help would be appreciated.)

Then use pin provided by dealer to reset rf hub to the new bcm config using the alpha tool. (I assume it would be similar to the tpms or key programming)

I have been back and forth on this with a couple of members. I do not believe I have to replace the hub. The full OEM kit does not come with it for the 2017 and I am using the same remotes.

Am I missing anything? Anyone want to help me with what sequence and settings?

If I do this I am thinking of doing it at the dealers parking lot. Would save a tow if something goes horribly wrong?

Any thoughts?

I have a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 EcoDiesel
I have after market tires and rims on the truck, and did not put the TPMS sensors in the wheels.
My low pressure light stays off, but everytime I start the truck the tire pressure screen comes on, and shows all 4 tire pressures at "-"
Has anyone used the Alfaobd to disable the TPMS?

I think I have to do this, but just want to be sure before going ahead

Alfaobd:

Body Computer> Body Computer MY2016>Base TPM system present> No?

Body Computer> Body Computer MY2016>Premium TPM system present>No?

Than do I need to go into the Radio Frequency Hub and reset it?

I appreciate any info

Thanks

Curtis

I've seen it mentioned that with the AE you can configure a 2500 with TPMS as a 3500 with TPIS. I am trying to figure out how to do this on my 2018 2500 as well because my summer wheels and tires do not have the TPMS sensor in the either and it was never a problem on my 2016 3500.

I'll contribute what I know by looking at mine. The only setting in my BCM through the app I could locate is "Remote Start Present".

There is the following and I have all these selected with my remote start. Some of which overlap with the VTA system.

Hood Ajar Switch Input Present --- Switch that came with your kit

VTA Hood Ajar Monitoring --- Needed for remote start to prevent accidental starting

VTA System Present --- Not needed for remote start but why not have that cool theft alarm

Hood Ajar Switch Usage (Select “500 ohm and 500 ohm parallel resistors) --- This was factory set before Alfa.

Sound Horn with Remote Start CSM --- Give you the options on the 8.4 screen to enable or disable horn chirps with remote start.

As far as connecting to the Radio Frequency Hub, I'm not sure. Does it say anything about resetting the hub after enabling the codes in the BCM?

What about the Remote Start Antenna that comes with the kit, you have that installed as well?

EDIT - nevermind, apparently the 2017+ kits do not include the antenna like the earlier kits.

New to the forum but been reading the alfaobd thread for some time now and used it to learn how to make a few changes to my truck: added rearview camera, heated seats, and SRT splash screen.

But I'm not sure if I'm just missing it or I'm just more of a Noob than I thought, but HOW THE HECK DO I USE IT TO DIAGNOSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT??

I tried connecting to the Body Computer Module -- MY2013, and then clicking the little engine icon at the bottom of the screen -- selected "Read All Faults". It displayed:B170B, and B16E7, and when I clicked each of these it said: "Right Reverse Lamp Control..." and "License Plate Lamp Control..."

But what do I select to read and clear the CEL code???

Sorry for the noob question and thanks for all of the great info I've already used on here!

*Using the Android version, and have a 2013 V6 1500*
