Almost growling at idle

I have a 2016 2500 6.4l hemi. When driving and I come to a stop sign or light there is an almost growling noise coming from what sounds like inside or under the dash. I can fell it slightly in my brake pedal, (keep in mind, when I’m already stopped, not stopping) almost goes away if I turn the wheel when stopped. I’m thinking power steering pump but it doesn’t have any other power steering issues. Any have an idea? Thanks!!

Hydroboost. Mine did it a few months ago so I changed the power steering fluid out and that helped. Had a recall done on my truck and they said it was normal. I can still barely hear it but radio needs to be turned down and blower motor off. I thought I read on here or somewhere of one of the hoses insides separating from the hose. After the guy changed out that hose his noise was completely gone.

Oh wow ok, same thing? You would hear it at idle like at red lights?

Yeah any time I was stopped I would hear it, but I'd have to listen for it. Kind of like one of those things once you hear or see it once you always looking at/for it. Turning the wheel while stopped made my noise disappear.

Yeah, definitely same thing here. And I can feel it in the brake pedal when stopped. Just like a little tapping feeling

So all you did was flush power steering fluid?

I'd try a power steering flush and see if that helps. It quieted mine down. I could never feel it in the brake pedal so yours might be a little worse.

Yep and I'm sure you already know but in case you don't use atf+4 fluid

No problem! I don't know much about them since this is the first vehicle I've had with the hydroboost system. Hopefully new fluid will help or someone with more knowledge will chime in.

You’ve been the biggest help so far. I even took it to a shop, those idiots told me my brake pads look good lol!
