Changed my dash speakers to Kicker 3.5 not sure the model but I think it's the better of the 3 types. Ks series maybe? Either way, the drop from the factory 2 ohm speakers to the Kicker 4 ohm has cost me some power. They are definitely more clear but I'm not getting the volume of like. This system has so much mid range and bass I would like to just add a small amp for the 3 dash speakers I changed.

So my thought is to buy one of the small 4 channel amps and just use the line level inputs and only use 3 of the channels to power the 3.5 speakers. Just hoping to gain more volume from them. That way they could keep up with the rest of the systems bass output. Really don't want to add a DSP or any processing equipment. So I'm just hoping and wondering I'm amplifying the dash speakers would get me the more volume in their frequency range.

Anyone see any issues with this? I understand it's not the best system out there but I'm satisfied with it other than the output of the dash speakers.

Truck is a 2016 crew sport. 8.4an with the Alpine system.

Right the Alpine was what I thinking. But since the signal is already crossed at a certain frequency I would not need to worry about a crossover. Just wondering if sending an already amplified signal to the line level inputs would affect anything? Can't imagine it would. Just curious if anyone thought this route would alleviate my lower volume from the dash speaker issue.

The alpine pack is not plug and play with factory systems. But still shouldn't be too difficult. You are going to want to see how much voltage is coming through those speakers before pushing that signal into the amp. A good line output converter can handle 12-18 volts. I have no clue how much the 8.4 is outputting.

The front dash speakers are directly spliced off the front door speakers. I believe you will find these have a full signal to them, not a crossed over one. I say that because the Kicker subwoofer add on system uses the front left door speaker wiring to get signal for the subwoofer, if it were crossed over, then the subwoofer would not be getting the frequencies it needs.

Sawz the alpine system has individual xovers for each speaker, they aren't tied into each other. The base 6 speaker stereo is what you explained.

Can't seem to find what that amp will take as far as input wattage. Hmm.
