Have been taking what was said here into consideration and about to pull the trigger on some...

Kumho Ventur AT51 tires.

http://www.kumhousa.net/tire/category/truck-suv/2DAD4945-E708-43A2-ADF1-0A43551871B2

-Snowflake tested (lol, You know what I mean)
-All Terrain
-Watch guys in suv/small trucks just obliterate snow
-Actually read a review from a Ram owner in my town lol.
-Price is cheap 160-180 per, Id pay more for better
-Warranty 55k, low end but whatever.

Main concerns
-Snow
-Ice
-Rain

Want a tire that lets me do what my truck was meant to do! If I want to be a road princess fine, if I want to travel through some he-man type of roads great.

Please, If You have any reservations or better suggestions through experience. Please say so. I am going from All Season to All Terrain, sick of going 35 in snow conditions when other Ram owners blowing by me going 45.

2013 4x4 Sport.
Idaho
Sizes 275/55R20 or 275/60R20.

Thank you.

Personally I haven’t tried them in snow or ice yet but they are rated for severe snow which is better than most other tires.

The Wildpeak AT3 tires don't do as well in the Dakotas areas, snow wise. Pretty popular, but you see a lot of them up for resale with more than half tread left on Craigslist and other places, leading me to believe people get rid of them early.

Heard good things about the Kumho tires, but no personal experience.

I know a lot of guys out here who run the Duratracs, and the BFGs all terrains. The Hankook Dynapro ATm tires eat the snow pretty well out here as well, and are gaining in popularity, as they are the cheaper of the three typically. The Hankooks don't get as much praise as when they first came out, as they haven't changed much over the years, but I still like them. They have the snowflake. There is a lot of "I want MERICA tires, no Koreas here" mentalities out here, so many times they are ignored for that reason.

I know a few guys that go up in the Rockies in Colorado with them on unplowed trails and love them. Took them on a plowed trail in the Black Hills once, and did go through a few short spots where it wasn't plowed, maybe 8 inches or so, and they worked great. Brought "light chains" for the rear tires just in case, but didn't need them.

Good to hear, I can care less about the Merica b.s. My Truck is American and it is okay if it wears shoes from another country because we all wear shoes from another country on our own feet lol.

Also

I have been looking at 275/55R20 but it was the P275 I should go LT right? Considering the weight of our trucks plus the possible load of 1400 pounds in the bed. With that in mind adjusted my search to LT285/55R20 and LT275/65R20. Little worries about rub but all the research says I wont have an issue. Any thoughts?

*Edit*
I loved the first video...he called that a snow storm! Haha.
Third viedo he says 18" but the snow next to the tractor trailer in the "unplowed parking lot" the snow isnt even over the trucks sidewall. A little overrated. Lol.
The tread design of the tires your looking at seems to have nice zigzag sipes in the tread similar to the ones blizzak uses in their snow tires. Sorry...by mistake i looked at the AT3 and was making reference to them.

Yeah for me was a joke too but he does say after that statement it wasnt bad. Which that is a normal day here lol.
If thats a noraml day for you you will be fine. That tire is the first all season i have seen with the zigzag lug sipes. Same on blizzak uses on their snow/ice tires. And they are they best you can buy.

I have the wildpeak at3w's and they were on par or better performance wise with my old cooper discoverer at3, and general grabber at2s. They are great in snow, ice and rain so far. I only have about 10k on them though. They are beefier looking than most AT's and were very very resonable as well.

2nd vote for that tire, I am looking at them. Did you go LT or P rated tires?

I was thinking of these and luckily I saw them on a truck. They are hideous when on a ram if that makes sense lol. I went with duratracs. My truck was a tank this winter

If you want a LT tire or D rated I believe the the BFG’s are decent in snow and have a LT type rating.

The duratracs are close as you can get for weight on a 275/60/20. It’ll be P rating. Which is fine. The BFG’s weigh a lot like almost 60 pounds

Also, Toyo open country AT2’s

Not that I want that rating just curious if it is needed for a Ram 1500 4x4 Truck say with full Bed Load, dont want to take away capability ftom the Truck is all.

I was thinking the opposite. I think duratracs are the ugliest tires. Lol. Look almost identical to 1980's rear wheel drive studded snow tires.

Agreed and I’m not just saying that because it’s what I have...

I wanted an aggressive looking tire with good on road manners. It was between the Falkens, Nitto Ridge Grapplers and Toyo OC R/T. They were all contenders but the value of the Falkens and overall features were hard to beat.
