For those of you that read my last post titled "5.2 Hard Starting", Ive found an issue that is probably tied in with that hard starting issue. Tonight, i was fillin my gas tank at the gas station and it got close to bein full so I figured Id finish it off at an even dollar amount. I got to about $52 when I noticed a dripping sound. I looked under the truck and the tank was leakin gas pretty badly right out of the top of the tank. Not the cap, the tank itself. Not sure if this could have anything to do with the possible fuel pressure problem or not...?

sounds to me like you need a new filler hose. if it is only leaking when you fill up it is in the filler neck, or the top of the tank may have a crack in it. crack can be fixed, hose can be replaced. if it was leaking from the lines itself you would be having more than just starting issues.

52 to fill up..... damn, fill up costs me 90!!!

And that was from a half a tank..I paid $3.69 for a little over 14 gallons of regular here in Honesdale, PA. And at about 8 MPG's, stuff is not cheap! lol

Any gas leak is worth the extra effort. Spilled gas is lost dollars. Think its just a seal but you never know. Not to mention you cant see the top of the tank while its on tje truck.

While you're there, if you have the cash, and havent done it yet, replace the fuel filter and pump if you have the cash.
