Hello. My first vehicle ever was a 1995 dodge ram. Nice little truck, lowed, had a hood scoop, billet grill, few things done to the engine, exhaust etc. Had to see it when I was 20 to get a economical car for school and work etc. I always vowed when I graduated I would get me a new dodge ram again. I finished a couple of years ago and finally pulled the trigger and got me a 2015 dodge ram 1500 crew cab (had to fit the kids in) with a 5.7 hemi sportsman edition 4x4.

I'm pretty happy with the exterior, I want to put some nerf bars on so the wife can get into it but all trim and external otherwise is to my liking along with interior.

I'd love to hear advice from everyone on some engine upgrades. I know it's a 4x4 so I'm not planning any racing. I would like better sound to it with a little more performance. What's your opinion on some headers and exhaust? Any other performance upgrades? I'd like to have another ram air hood but havent had luck finding any.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

There are SO MANY threads and different mods you can look at and do lol. Just look around but I would start with

Tune, catch can, intake, and look at the exhaust clip thread to find what you like.

If it's a family truck I would just do a muffler swap and get the sound you want. If you do headers you will need a tuner and a custom tune to make power. And there goes your warranty right out the window. But the catch can is a really good idea for a new motor, and no warranty issues.

I agree 100% with Hammerhead above. Family Transportation needs to be dependable and trust worthy and a Valid Warranty is vital in my opinion...

Stick with exterior mods and leave the engine mods to a minimum...

Catch Can / Muffler Swap --->A CAI will not gain you really anything except dent in your bank account & a bit more noise under the hood...

After your warranty is up then you begin the so called performance upgrades-->$$$
Just my advice nothing more... but still you have to put dependability top priority if it is still family transportation...
