Are there any good aftermarket headunits that will still operate most if not all of the functions that the 8.4 does in my 2015 Big Horn? I don't want to lose my truck settings, or ability to direct whether my heat/AC goes on my feet or the windshield.

Go to the Maestro idatalink website and look for a compatible radio that supports those features with it.

Hopefully some of the audio guru's will chime in on specifics

M² Mods.

@Mpgrimm2 is exactly right. How high end of a head unit are you looking at? Kenwood, Alpine, and Pioneer all have multiple units that work with the Maestro.

The Maestro is what allows you to keep all the non-audio controls.

I really like my Pioneer AVH4500nex. With the adapters I didn’t loose any functionality.

I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but man, do they ever come up with some great ideas

I've had Pioneer decks in the past and been happy but am open to all options. I am not looking to break the bank but want one with decent power, an EQ, and sub pre-outs. It sounds like the Maestro MMR or RR2 is a must-have as well to retain my controls. I'll connect this headunit to a 10" sub with a 150W Rockford Fosgate amp.

I’m partial to the new Kenwood Excelons, specifically the 9905S and 9906. The Alpine Halo units get good reviews.
