Any issues I should be aware of when disconnecting the battery during a vararam install? Any issues with the settings or other electronics like sat radio & such?

As for TB.. my exhaust set up is factory Y pipe to single inlet 3" magnaflow 14, dual outlet 3" pipe. When towing, right now, we're getting about 11 to 12 MPG... thinking of doing the 85mm TB for help on the hills when the throttle is really open. With a vararam... what realistic improvements, without a tuner (none avail yet 2013 2500 power wagon) can I expect?

thanks!

i think for the vararam they claim 30 hp & 30 tq but if you see half of that you should be a happy camper.

Yes, I would. I'd be happy with 13+ MPG towing at 60-65

The weight of the truck and 4.56's are going to make mileage tough in that big truck. The TB and intake will definitely help with power, but realistically you may see a 1-1.5mpg increase.

Which is fine. 1 to 1.5 mpg over 7000+ miles of towing over the next 5 months would be awesome actually. At 11 mpg... thats 636 gallons of gas I have to buy, at $4.00 a gallon, thats $2544.00 bucks!

If I move that up to 12.5 mpg... thats 560 gallons instead. the potential savings is $304 in gas. After another year of doing our trade shows, we'd not only break even on the cost of the mods but start to keep more in the pocket.

Any issues with disconnecting the battery with these newer systems?

None that I am aware of aside from having to redo your radio presets. Every manufacturer recommends disconnecting the battery before installing a mod that affect air or fuel delivery, so this is standard practice.

No issue at all. Most people disconnect the battery when they add a new performance mod so that the computer will re-learn the new added part.

I climb a lot of hills in my truck every day. That is where I really noticed the difference from the Air Grabber. From 3500 RPM on you will notice a very nice difference. The truck won't have to downshift nearly as often which may help y ou mpg...slightly.

I disconnected my battery each time I do mods like this and have had no issues with presets or satellite info, or the clock or anything. The Radio was on a different station and the EVIC menu was up but that was about it.

Good luck.
