I’m back and forth on the gray interior option that has the gray seats and accents and the light tan headliner OR the night edition that has an all black interior, even the headliner is black. I like the night edition, but like I said, it only comes with the all black interior which I’m not a huge fan of, but it has all the options I want. It’s been hard finding the options I want with the grey interior - night edition or not for that matter, the night edition exterior is irrelevant.

I tend to like lighter colors inside, but finding a level 2 big horn with grey interior and no etorque is near impossible here in the northeast. I’ve found some level 2 no etorque’s, but all have black interior with black headliner.

Am I ridiculous for not getting one because of the all black headliner? For those of you with all black headliner - does it make the cabin too dark? Is my OCD kicking in? Could you change the headliner?

A 2021 built how I want would jack the price up. I have a great price worked out with my dealer for a 2020 - now we’re just trying to locate the right one. Thanks for any thoughts!

Mine had the grey/black seats with tan headliner. I had the dealer install solid black Katskin leather seat covers as part of the deal. Mine was the last 2019 1500 the dealer had (this was November 2019). He had been sitting on it for 6 months. While it wasn’t discussed, I’m guessing it sat because of the color combination of the interior. It just wasn’t appealing at all. If you like everything else about the truck you might consider the Katskin covers. I’m very satisfied with mine.

I'm as OCD as the next person, but I prefer a black headliner. I've had lighter colored headliners, and they stain too easily. And can start to look dingy after a few years. I'm sure there are ways to clean them though, I just haven't looked into it.

I don't think you're being ridiculous at all. You're planning to slap down a chunk of change for a new truck and you should be able to get what you want. I'm sure you could swap out the headliner, but it will be a lot of work and/or expensive if you pay someone else to do it. It requires removing the windshield. You might talk with the sales person and see if something can be worked out.

Hi Mike. Thanks for the reply. I’ve heard that a couple times now about removing the windshield and all that. Now I called a local upholstery shop near me who’s really good and for a few hundred bucks he said he could remove the headliner, add new fabric over the black, glue it on so it looks like it came from the factory and put it back on. He’s never heard of having to remove the windshield, etc. But like you said, I talked to the parts guy at my local dealership and he said the same thing you did. So is there a way to change the fabric color without doing all this windshield stuff?? Thanks!

Get the color interior that you really want or you will not be happy. You look at it every time you're in the truck. I ordered my truck and chose the black/light mountain brown interior and love it. Every time I get in the truck I say I love my truck build choices. It will bother you if you don't get what you want.

Is the 2019 Ram Big Horn not considered a blackout edition if the headliner is tan??

I've got to say that I have a Night Edition Ram and I'm *finally* happy with the interior colors, particularly the black headliner, over my previous few Rams. I don't think that it makes the interior too dark. In fact, I actually prefer it as it seems to keep the cabin just a *bit* darker -- particularly in bright summer sun or sunlight reflecting off the snow. At night, it doesn't seem any different at all versus my previous Rams.

Personally I was never a fan of the seats/carpet and headliner/A&B pillars being different colors -- I always thought it had that "cobbled together" look. It didn't look bad by any means, it just didn't look "right" to me.

But in the end, it's up to one's personal taste, and since you're paying for it you should get what *you* like.

I didn't pick this, it was a truck on the lot, but I really like the two tone.

I liked the look of the Indigo / Frost interior on the Patriot Blue Limited so I got one, but am finding out that the Frost interior hasn't held up for even half a year for me in my 2021. It already has entire spots rubbed all the way down to the grey material underneath before I even got my first Ram Care oil change.
