Installed 35w 6000k low beams as well as LED switch backs and now I'm constantly getting flashed by people thinking I have my brights on. Anybody else have this happen? Prob doesn't help that I sit higher being on 35's with a level kit. Think it would help if I aimed the lights down more?

If you don't have projectors the light is likely scattering like crazy. I doubt adjusting the aim would help much. Best way to deal with it would be to buy a set of lights with projectors or a retrofit of your current lights. Where I am in Alberta it's illegal to run HID's unless their in a projector because they're to bright and blind oncoming traffic.

Edit: I havnt been flashed yet since upgrading to HId in my projectors.

HIDs without projectors is obnoxious as hell for oncoming cars. Additionally, it sounds like your lights need to be adjusted down, but without projectors that will make a minor difference.

I will get flashed randomly but not every time Im in the truck. I run HIDs in my stock projectors and have found that due to the height of these trucks most smaller cars (prius comes to mind lol) or other lower vehicles tend to be under the cutoff line when right behind them (side mirrors shine in there eyes). Or if Im going up hill and they are coming straight on at the top of a hill they fall below the cutoff. I would think that most flashing prob comes from the fog lights as they are very bright with scattered light with HIDs.

I have aimed my headlights but to lower there aim more would cut my field of vision more and thats something the person in a smaller car will have to deal with.

I live in FL, get flashed all the time with HID's in projectors. They hate when I flash back, that's for sure. I chock it up to stupid old people. On a few recent trips I never got flashed outside of the metro area here in Tampa/Clearwater.

My lights are aimed at where there should be, but running 5000K at 55W's is just too bright for some folks. I'd reckon that most of the folks flashing you are old or just angry at your HID's.

Although HID's in non projectors is pretty asinine, IMO.

Nope. I'm running PNP's, any quad housing, and minimal glare.
there is definitely a little bit clearer but not much. It actually has about the same amount as my wife's stock HID reflectors on her Nissan.

Unintended consequences of many mods. I agree the headlights are inferior for a premium truck and I said this in the survey Ram sent me. Fortunately I don't drive a lot at night.

I've personally seen this guys lights. Not bad at all. Quads handle HID rather well. Not quite as nice as my FX-R retro but much more inexpensive.

I find it's usually people in tiny **** box cars flashing at me. Only once have I had it happen from an SUV. What really gets me is when I flash them back and then they just turn their high beams on and leave them! Wtf!

He didn't actually call u a stupid old folk.... maybe ur just one of the regular old folk. I have personally seen and gotten yelled at by driving any louder than stock prius up my street at 25mph by older folk, they think bc it's louder I must be speeding . My father is 70 and his irratabilility as increased dramatically... no offense tho.

What ****** me off is what I call "3 headlight idiots."

4 headlight setup- low beam burns out- **** turns on brights and WILL NOT dim them.

Worse yet - the lazy SOB's that have a quad setup and BOTH low beam lights burn out and they refuse to replace them, and subsequently run their hi-beams everywhere.

Had a Suburban that I saw every morning and every night for the last 4 months like that. Finally caught him at a gas station, called the local PD to file a complaint about malfunctioning equipment and called him out on it - complained it's too hard to change the lights. The PD sent a squad car to check it out and in the end, ticketed and towed. :)

Ethan, I had quads in my 10' Sport
first swapped in a set of OEM 13+ Projectors($680 on sale) $125 adapter w/ drop-in $150 HID kit
Then a couple months later upgraded again to the FX-R retro'd TYC's..much better. ($625+$640)

You have a killer Black RCSB that could certainly benefit from the swap...
for performance and appearance...My 5 y/o 10' looks like a new 15' now

Comparison photo's of all three set ups:

Stock Quad low beam only, 40' throw distance
quad1_zps17011ca8.jpg

13+ OEM Projector low beam with HID (35w/5000k) drop in kit for $150
HIDRetroshop_zps441ee601.jpg

The New FX-R's are amazing, brighter more even beam spread,
wider pattern (even though this pic does not show width well) and a sharper cut-off
even when the sky is still blue just before sundown it lights **** the fk up Big time

still a 35w/5000k bulb, but a D2S instead of 9012

After dialing the aim down a little later on, a little darker out

IMG-20141121-01706_zpsbd18ee54.jpg

with 35w/5000k fog HID's (for only when there's no traffic around) ($150)

IMG-20141121-01705_zpsbbabd989.jpg

If you decide to splurge the extra for the FX-R's
you may as well pay a little extra for paint/tint to murderer them out
and add a halo kit or demon eyes
(my blackout paint/tint and amber demon eyes added $130)

FXRUPGRADES_zps208eedf6.png

Park light mode ... with Amber Demon Eyes

IMG-20141122-01725_zps3c9062bb.jpg

Jeremy also hooked me up with 13+ LED Tail light adapters
and I'm running OEM LED Tinted tails now too...Bright enough to cut through two coats of VHT.

Never been flashed unless I left my fogs on by mistake
(New Projector fogs with amber demon eyes and with a proper cut/off shield are next)

Did the 15s switch back to the horizontal fogs and 09-12 grill?

HIDs in my quads weren't bad with blinding since I aimed them down, but not as good with my projectors..
