need help with a p0440 code plus p0442 and how to clear out the cluster code 23

Replace your gas cap, clear the codes by taking the cables off the battery, turn on your headlight switch and let it sit for about 10 minutes. See if the codes come back.

C-Code 23 53 23 Headlamp switch input circuit open. whatever that means im just trying to clear the code out

Not sure how to clear those, as I dont think they are stored in the PCM, but doing the battery deal I posted above might do it. I see what you're saying, the code 23 if the code and the 53 is how many key cycles have passed since the code came up.

yeah ive asked around just about everywhere no one seems to know how to clear the 23 code off. but i have replaced the gas cap and replaced all hoses for the p0440 and p0442 still didnt stop the codes from coming up. but ive read up and most people just replace the evap canister i havent tried that so not sure how that will work out..

I just got the p0440 code and just cleared it. Is that a bad thing? Usually I just clear any code that pops up.

i dont think its a bad thing ive cleared mine alottt of times but just drives me insane bc they just pop back up 2 days after i clear em

just the hoses goin to the canister the hoses to the gas tank and everywhere else were replaced by a buddy of mine abt a month ago. The evap canister should b located on the driver side just under the cab

havent checked in on the purge solenoid yet but every one ive talked to says 9 times out of 10 its either hoses gas cap or the evap canister not sure if there right yet or not but i guess il find out shortly

yea nothing to worry abt rele just im that type of person that cant stand to see a check engine light on. But dude b honest with me 4.56 gears must be sweet to have how much of a difference can u tell than what u had b 4

HAHA everybody and they're mom asks me about them. But I honestly don't know, I bought the truck with them installed. but my friend with a 2004 ram says it pulls like crazy from 1st-2nd, and then on.

yea wish i could get that lucky i got 3. 55s in mine 3.92s would of been better but 4.56 would be freakin sweet .. i want 4.56 and a bullydog in mine all i got is stock pretty much delta 40 flowmasters and cai but havent had the truck long its gone take some tinkering with and an arm and a leg but il get there sooner or later haha
