Anyone else debate between Rebel and Limited? What was your deciding factor?

Hi,

I know....another help me choose post...

I'll probably be buying a new ram pick-up within the next month. I'm stuck between the Rebel or Limited trim level. Anyone else caught up between these 2 trim levels? Why did you choose one over the other?

From what I see the pricing isn't that far off from each other. If I shop around, I see Rebels $10k under msrp. The Limited discounts are larger, so in the end, are just a few thousands from the Rebel. For me, it's all street driving. The Limited will be a 4x4.

Thanks ;)

I had the exact same debate. I wanted the Rebel, I loved the look of it and was wanting to get back into a sportier truck versus a luxury oriented one. I took my wife with me and we drove the Rebel first. I was happy with the way it drove. It was still fairly quiet inside and wasn't as rough as the look insinuates. I thought the interior and options were "enough" to give me what I wanted. Then we drove the Limited...

Needless to say that's what came home with me. I guess I'm getting old but the added options were too much for me to overcome. I would have still been extremely happy with the Rebel, but for me the Limited provided more of what I really wanted even if I didn't think so in the beginning. My wife pointed out a few little things that the Rebel didn't have (power passenger seat being the most important). I guess it was those little things that drove me to the Limited.

Truth be told, I think a Laramie with the Sport and Off Road packages might have been the perfect choice for me had one been available.

It's your truck and your money so be happy with your choice either way. Good Luck!

I think for me it would come down to what you want to see when you walk up to your truck. The new limited models to me look like a luxury sedan (4 doors) that happen to not have a trunk. :33: I want my truck to look like a truck. I got a great deal on an 18 laramie. It had all the goodies, but still left some room for a few mods, Getting my Nitto grapplers put on this week. I stayed with the chrome clad wheels for now but I have my eyes on a new set for xmas. Don't think I would do those things to a 19 limited.

Some food for thought. Enjoy your new ride, which ever you choose.

Probley should go look at all trim levels and then drive them, let the chips fall where they may. I can tell you if you order one today the price is up from what is on the lot. I went to the build and price this morning and my build was $1840 more today from when i ordered on 8/29. I went to my dealer and he priced my truck and came up with a $1000 more. Don't get that but it definitely went up.

I loaded up a Laramie and added the Off road package so I get the best of both IMO.

Has anyone driven the Laramie vs Limited? Does it drive the same?
I drove the limit but ended up not driving any other trim... When I said to the sales guy I wasn't buying the car until November, I don't think he wanted to spend too much time with me.. lol

I did and so for me the air ride suspension was a must have in the Laramie.

Yes for the most part in my opinion. It is very subjective. But some folks will say there is no difference. I drove a Laramie without air ride and I could feel a big difference. I also think the 18” rims allow for more cushioning with more rubber in the wheels compared to the larger rims in the Limited. Best thing is for you to try the different configurations.

For me it was Limited, Larime Longhorn or Rebel.

Overall I felt the bang for your buck was the best with the Rebel and not to mention it is the best looking to me. If I would have went with larime or limited I would have ended up buying new rims and tires straight away. Rebel was my choice.

I see they are about to launch the Rebel 12 - where they bring the goodies from higher trims into the Rebel, including the 12 inch screen. This would likely be the combo I would buy as I like the Rebel exterior and off road features with the technology found on the Laramie and up.

Not that I am going to do anything soon - too big of a depreciation hit to trade/sell my 17

I just saw a Rebel at the dealer. After seeing both, it’s no question, I would go Rebel. I like they did away with the suede inserts in the seats. It was a tasteful aggressive truck that looks good clean, but can roll out the door and hit some mild trails.

Honestly depends on features you want. With the rebel you might not be able to get all the equipment that you can with the limited. You can always modify the limited with aftermarket to get the look of an offroad vehicle if its going to be a pavement only vehicle.

I debated between the Rebel, Longhorn and Limited. It's very possible I would of got the Rebel if you could add adaptive cruise and the 12" screen. Ultimately the final choice came down to the Longhorn and Limited because of those extra features and I love the real wood and that the middle of the dash is wrapped in leather.

If the Rebel had a luxury package that added adaptive cruise, 12" screen and upgraded dash like the Longhorn or Limited I would have gone Rebel no doubt.

Wow! I think it looks great. I noticed that you can sign up for updates....but is there a ballpark time-frame when the Rebel 12 will be available?
4th quarter 2018 is the official line, but of course that starts next week. Probably won't be on lots until sometime in mid-November at the earliest.
