Replaced the Chrysler lsd when it self destructed about 5-6 years ago.
Added an Auburn diff.
Fine but I "believe" it now has issues.
I have a really loud tick tick tick noise that of course increases while accelerating. Decreases when gliding.
Anyways tore apart rear end looking for the issue.
Nothing on drive shaft was bad (bear to get the bolts off). U joints fine
No gear damage in pumpkin, pass axle bearings seem good. Rolled fine.
Seals good.
Anyways tried refilling w/ 80/90 and GM additive in the hopes it will go away. Didn't.
Only odd thing was when both back tires were off the ground and in N the noise in the vid wasn't heard.
Not even sure the 2 noises are related but I assume they are.
My tranny guy also thought noise was just junk stuck somewhere and not the Auburn.
We just did a short test drive to hear it.
To me it was too consistent.
This is a more focused redo of a prev. post btw. Sorry.
Anyone want it for $1200 let me know.. 2002 long bed (whats left of it) and 74K miles on the 4.7 (Z vin code) .
