Anyone know how the Toyo Open Country AT2s do in snow?

The ones I just got rid of were absolutely great tires, for everything EXCEPT MUD!!!!! they were really good in rain in dry on gravel and sand but truly sucked in the mud. Horrible. But I would bet that they would be decent in the snow. The reason I went back to Cooper Zeons is that I drive a lot on muddy locations and needed the extra mud traction. Otherwise I would have loved the AT2s. I bet you will be okay.

I always heard they did decent in mud. What size were yours? Cause their extreme sizes are very aggressive looking

They're really good in snow.
Rubber is a little hard for solid ice and hard packed snow but still one of the best all terrain tires I've used in winter overall.

I wonder that myself I was thinking on getting those when my stock tire wear out. Will they be better than the Nitto Grapper?

The 275/60/20 is their passenger rated tire, I landed up going to the 275/65/20 which is their LT rated version. I look forward to seeing what it will do in snow come this winter, it can't be any worse than the crap stockers did last winter...

so they're about an inch bigger diameter? did you need to have your speedo flashed, or just let it run a little low? No fit issues at stock ride height?

Yes, they're a bit taller (and they look damn good too). I didn't change the speedo, it's not off so much that is will cause a problem. No fit issues except for when turning all the way left, it will rub on a small plastic nub that sticks out of the inner fender well. The only reason why I noticed it was when backing out of my driveway and cranking it hard left to back out on the street.

Nice, deep tread too:

I really look forward to seeing how they do this winter...

I had the AT2's on my previous truck-- had them siped and they were still the terrible in the snow. I really like Toyo tires-- just not these. Took them back to the dealer and swapped for Toyo MT's siped and they rocked the snow and mud. JMHO
