i am considering leasing a 2500 or sew 3500. Anyone lease one? I've looked online and cannot find any lease offers. I'm guessing they're less common than 1500 leases.
I haven't talked to a dealer about it yet. I try and avoid talking to them unless it's time to sign!

Leasing of HD is rare, but I think possible. You might just have to go down and talk to a dealer to see what numbers would be. They will probably let you do anything. Just may or may not work out to be in your advantage.

IME leasing a 2500/3500 is going to result in much higher prices, at least right now, there are no lease incentives that provide enhanced residual values and/or good lease rebates on 2018's. I briefly looked at leasing a 2500 Limited edition instead of the 2018 1500 Limited I just picked up, and my lease payment would have doubled for the 2500 from roughly 450/month up to 956/month. RAM really incentivizes 1500 leases by raising the residual values, providing lower lease factors, and providing better lease rebates. 2500/3500 are most often purchased by people using them for businesses that write off the trucks as expenses.

I lease some smaller delivery type vehicles for my company but always buy my trucks outright. One main reason is the resale market for trucks is great so getting rid of my truck when I want a new one is no problem. Ever try selling a Kia Soul? :) So, to be able to just return a lease vehicle is nice.

I'm thinking the reason we rarely see lease offers for HD trucks is just the lack of demand. Also, with the way the trucks are used they can really get beat on so that adds some complexity for a dealer taking it back after a few years.

Yeah I thought it was rare to lease a 3/4 or a 1 ton. I never put much thought into it till I saw a used one on a dealer website that was a previous rental.
Trucks are going through drastic safety, technology, and mpg changes so fast. So it would be nice to essentially rent a truck for 2yrs and get another new one.

lease rates for a heavy duty are complete ****. the standard rate for a HD (and any car that is non-incentivized) is 0.00266, which translates into 6.384%. so even if you have an 860 credit score you're paying 6.384% on your lease. and if you know how interest on a lease is calculated, it's based on the capitalized cost AND the residual value, so the interest on a non-incentivized lease on a $60k lease is astronomical. the lease payment on my power wagon would have been larger than my purchase payment.
