I wanted to follow up from my earlier post and touch on what @corneileous wrote.

I did go ahead a buy new rims and tires. Tires are BFGoodrich T/A KO2, 275/65R20 and I’ve put a little over 1k on them since. These are the exact tires and size I had on my 14 Ram and now that I have them on my 19, I think I would have been better off with the Nitto’s for my needs.

On my 14, the KO2’s didn’t seem to make much of a difference in ride quality while on the 19, it does feel heavier and the ride is not as supple. I attribute this to how nice the 19 rides compared to my 14. Don’t get me wrong, even with the KO2’s, it is still nicer than my 14 but the difference from stock to now was more noticeable on the 19 as compared to the 14.

Since the most I tow is a boat at 3500lbs, I don’t need that stiff of a sidewall and the Nitto’s would have probably been a little softer for every day driving. I could see me buying some Nitto’s down the road, far down the road after I wear these out. ;)

That’s weird that you’re 14 didn’t feel that much different with those BFG’s and your 19 does. I noticed a big difference in my 18 and like I said, I even have the air ride on mine and it still made it ride rough, even when I only had 39 psi on them.

And even all the way back when I bought my first Ram- a 1998 1500, the guy before me had put the older version of the BFG all-terrain’s on it, 285/75/16’s that were well worn and when I replaced those 8 ply ******** with some 6 ply Yoko Geolandars, the ride was like, night and day. I always thought that it was because of that tri-guard sidewall that BFG advertised, is why they rode so rough but, it all makes sense now because those old tires that was on the truck when I bought it had a max inflation of 65 pounds and the new Yoko’s I bought to replace them had a max pressure of 44 pounds.

Some people like their trucks to ride like trucks...lol. Those BFG’s would be perfect for that...[emoji41]

BTW, they’re not louder I don’t think, just rougher-riding.

I have it on my ‘19 LL and it’s very quiet. Love it.

Seems like the newest generation bfg at have improved a fair bit as far as treadwear. Old ones got about 40,000 miles with my driving on a half ton vs 25000 on my hd truck so I'd expect a solid 50,000 miles perhaps more on these if you leave the traction control on. I haven't tested them yet though and I don't know anybody that's worn them out yet so I can't say for sure.

Have a 2015 1500 diesel... 54k miles, original tires need replacing soon.... I don't do off roading, seldom tow anything, love the truck on long road trips. What tires would everyone recommend for quiet and smooth ride? I may just get another set of the original brand, if I don't hear otherwise

Well, you definitely don’t want these in the thread title. But pretty much anything in a standard load 4 or 6 ply no matter the tread, that closely matches the makeup of your stock tires will be fine.

The tire market is overwhelming if you don't know what you're looking for.
As mentioned, stick with a 4-5ply tire to keep comfort and look for a well reviewed brand based on what you like aesthetically from a true all terrain option being in Wisconsin(Waukesha myself).

I would start with Nitto G2 or Toyo open country AT2 and make your way down from there. If you felt the OEM tires were adequate, there are plenty of P-type "all-season" options for light trucks.

How are they compared to GY Duratec's? If you say 25k max, then considering how I drive, it's gonna be a lot sooner.

Say they're good in the rain? Perfect, other night I had to meet my dad's business partner up near the GWB, it was raining and it felt sketchy pushing 70

I have them on my truck and I had them on my Hummer H2 (factory tire). My experience with the H2 made me buy them for the RAM. They wear well, are quiet, and are great in the snow.

I agree that the set that I had were actually fairly quiet, they did do exceptionally well in some of the Oklahoma downpours we have and that they did wear pretty good- I only burned about less than a 1/16th of tread for the ten months I had them but I still stand firm that these tires are still pretty worthless for somebody who lacks the need for tires like that. But that’s just me I spose.
