Took mine off when I put the Vararam intake on. Been off for probably 3 years now. I don't even know if I still have the cover. View attachment 540486

I've said it before bandit to others here...
My engine will/would never be that clean...lol
I gave up years ago trying to keep it clean.
My cover is on and all it does is collect dirt and dust from my road...does keep the intake not so dirty though

On the underside of the cover is sound absorbing material. The original intent was to reduce engine noise.

It makes no difference as far as I can tell. Engine sounds exactly the same. If they want to reduce noise a great place to start would be getting rid of all the ticks, rattles and knocks all throughout the engine.

That's what RL HP 5W30 and HPL SC 0W30 is for ;)
We pay extra, extra for that convenience!

Here in Ohio gravel roads are almost non-existent. The only time my truck sees "dust" is when the kids and I go tear up my field. I had to replace my battery at some point recently and the engine bay still looks the same as that year old picture. LOL

Where I live we not only have gravel roads (which I rarely drive on), but it's farm country too. This area turns into a dust bowl from about mid April until mid November. It's a ton-o-fun fun with a black truck. Within 5 minutes of washing it there is already a fine layer of dust forming. We've resorted to hitting the touchless wash about once a week just to keep up. But it never really looks clean for long. The engine bay gets sprayed out maybe once a year.

I'm also in farm country. I've got 12 acres myself surrounded by hundreds of fields. I had my Limited ceramic coated shortly after I bought it to save myself the headache of washing it almost daily. Now I wash it probably once a month and call it good enough.
