Anyone try Modifystreet headlights?

Could these be used to convert a previously purchased (base that fits stock quads) Hikari LED into one that will fit my ModifyStreet "19-style" projectors?
Yes.

Sweet, less money to spend on bulbs.

Will order up a set (and await the slow boat from China, apparently!)

Yes, very slow boat. The ones I pictured took over a month. The pictures show a 9005 adapter on what was sold by Hikari with a 9006 base on it.

One pops off and the other pops on. Be careful as there is a small fine gasket under the base ring that needs to stay intact. For what it's worth, I wasn't careful because I didn't know it was there but it didn't break...

That's the only reason I haven't ordered some. Granted probably by the time I get them I'll have the time to mess with them

I already have a set of Hikari LEDs when Amazon lightning sale-d them. Of course, they are for the stock quad size, so I could use the adapter to make them work with the Modify Street lights.

I still need a second set (either for high or low beams) so Ill order that and use them for low beams to setup and test the lights, then use the other set for high beams once the adapters show up.

Post pictures when you get them comparing the adapters to the installed rings if you remember.

Has anyone figured out how to override/bypass the "parking light out" notification without using AlfaOBD?

Anyone with any luck or does it only work with AlfaObd?

Well the time has come. I pulled these out and it's modification time. Going to open them up and make some changes. Not sure if I'm going to leave the body black and paint the shrouds color matched or do a color matched body with black shrouds. Replacing both upper and lower led's. Both strips being used are switchbacks but only the bottom will be used as turn. High Beam Protector is being replaced with a profile pivot led projector high Beam. I haven't decided if I'm going to order a mid level projector to replace the lows. I feel the quality of the lows is good enough to leave. I am swapping in some 35w hid's just to see if the output is any better. I will update when it's complete. It'll probably be a couple of weeks before I'm done.

So driving with these smoked switchbacks for a while, I'm generally quite pleased, but two concerns:

1) Does anyone have an issue with the headlights not being horizontally aligned (rotated clockwise or counterclockwise too much)? You have an adjustment for vertical, but my passenger headlight does not have a level cut off beam and the cutoff is higher on the left than the right, rotated too much clockwise, and thus can't be perfectly even with the driver's side regardless of height.

2) Not being used to trucks, I notice that there is a LOT of beam wandering now that you can see the crisp cutoff. I usually have my headlights adjusted so that at a horizontal level its just below the average sedan height's side mirrors from about 20 feet away, but in this case there's so much see-sawing with the chassis that on acceleration, deceleration, and bumps you can see the beams really have a lot of vertical travel so am worried if I get really powerful HIDs or LEDs, that might end up having a strobe light effect unless I aim them down a lot, kind of defeating the purpose of being able to see further ahead. Thoughts?

All good questions...I tend to think the momentary flashing is not quite so bad as it may seem to the driver but I understand exactly your considerations. This video may help.

For the alignment issue, are you using clockable/adjustable LEDs? Some LED bulbs can be rotated in their base to create the proper beam pattern. Here are some examples from my LEDs before and after clocking them...64e0a56fdca35073fd5a711b46eea586.jpg5da535cba2f3609d2a857c8ae211c2d0.jpgd7924c825b0950894b1741c853533416.jpg97233267a75905289abe5bda53324687.jpg

Makes sense, but no in my case they are just the incandescents that already came with the Modifystreet headlights preinstalled, didn't touch them.

BTW, is that the modifystreet projectors w/ LEDs? The stock halogens in the modifystreets produce a much sharper cutoff line, almost a perfect crisp cutoff. Those LEDs seem to have blurred the line quite a bit.

I just sorta gave up caring about the minimal flashing the other drivers would see...

Unless I hit a significant bump, or the road is convex (happens often here) they will be fine.

The only vehicles that have ever seemed to have an issue in these situations for me are Miatas, BRZs, etc. That are exceedingly close to the ground with no reasonable way to avoid them, short of making ANY headlight unusable.

I got flashed by those same cars on stock quad halogens. I think we can all agree those are junk.

Get them aimed correctly on level ground, and let those who choose to drive clown cars deal with their choice.

I think I saw it posted higher up on here but I can't find it, does anybody know if it's possible to hook the DRLs up to work as OEM DRLs would through the truck?
