Glad I Found this thread. New guy here but on just about every other forum. Haha

I bought a set of Alpharex G2 Pros. 2012 Ram 2500. Put Hikari Ultras in the high and low beams... put it all together, could only get one high beam and one low beam to work. All DRL and turn signals function well. I have not programmed via alphaobd yet. If I do, will these Hikari Ultras work as they should? The H7s they came with are pathetically dim.

Also- adjustment. Theyre all out of whack. Low beams are opposite of high beams so curious how that can be settled? Highs are super tight pattern. Too tight. Almost worthless. Lows are exponentially more out of adjustment compared to the high beams. Any input? They're brand new..pics attached. First two are low beams (in cab and out) second two are high beams (in cab and out)

It looks like you may have to "clock" your driver side (atleast) LED bulb....I think it might be in upside down

I just installed some Alpharex headlights and replaced the bulbs with LEDs. My output looks like one of the pix @ZJARCHER posted. But it looked this way with the original halogens too.

Just want to make sure mine aren't in upside down. Since the LED replacement bulbs I got have a vertical panel, it seems that 9&3 o'clock would be the same as 3&9 o'clock?

What bulbs are you using. Sometimes it matters...

That is a good example of one that matters. The thinner portion on one side allows more light to be collected/projected from that direction.

I think when I clocked similar ones, the thinner portion in the 6 o'clock position gave the best results but the best advice is to try it yourself both in the 6 and 12 o'clock position and see what you like best.

If you don’t want to tint them, I sell smoked and clear corners for these exact lights.

Hey guys
Long time lurker of the forum. Just got the base model Alpharex 2019 style headlights and would like to open them up to tint the side marker. Is there any kind of tutorial that exists to open these specific headlights? I previously opened the factory duals so I have some experience. The thing I’m not sure of is what needs to come out of the headlights before they go in the oven.
I decided to go the other way and lean into the amber corners...Capture.jpg

I’m not sure what’s up with your picture but it’s extremely tiny and pixelated. Cant even make out any details.

I'm being lazy and used the snipping tool to take a capture from my security cameras. Really just showing you can get a decent match by tinting the fogs (and in my case light bar too) with Amber Lamin-X.IMG_20200828_115809.jpg

Ah. Ok. Makes sense it’s a zoomed in security camera photo. Looks like it was taken with a potato lol.

Anyways, from what I can see it looks decent, definitely unique. I’ve seen yellow tinted fogs before, but never amber. I’m almost positive that is illegal (amber fogs). Hopefully cops in your area arnt crazy strict.

They used to be yellow but I thought it was too busy looking. It's legal in all 50 states I believe.

Well, started on these today and got the first one open. Much more nerve wracking than I thought it would be. Quick question. Are you guys reusing the sealant or do I need to scrape it off and put new on?

Definitely new. Ideally you'll want to use a butyl retro rubber to reseal it. Home depot and possibly Lowe's sells a butyl tape for windows that works also

Most of the old sealant is on the clear portion of the lens. Is there a preferred method of getting it off? I have a heat gun a hair dryer and an oven to work with.

As long as you get most of it off you'll be fine. I used a knife to cut it off. Heat gun works good but once it heats up it gets a little messy

I've had my alpharex 19 style in since right when released. Only issue, drivers side marker led came loose and was dangling in the housing, so I used some silicone to keep it in place. I get a random light out warning on drivers side, but is random and still blinks normal. Seeing all these newer versions I almost want to get a new set, but everything now has been so good and the hikari h7 LEDs have been in a long time with no issues I am weary of changing. These housings have never fogged up on me and that was my issue with every other oem and aftermarket headlights I tried. My oem quads had 3 inches of water in them(both) tried some blacked out housings(2 different brands) and fogged up after a couple days. Light output with the hikari h7 LEDs in low beam, LEDs in original fog light housing, I am happy with the light output. I couldn't say that with the oem lights.

Just a heads up for the folks that used the Hikari Ultras (& likely other high output LED bulbs soon). There's now an NHTSA recall campaign forcing Hikari to send out halogen replacements. Not that anyone would.
(Probably due to people installing them in Standard halogen Reflector housings).

Amazon sent me an email about it (twice, because I bought 2 sets of Hikaris)

Like its Hikari's fault people use them wrong and/or dont know how to align them correctly!

Yet I drive around every night and end up blinded by every idiot that puts blue LEDs into their stock headlights (of any vehicle, not just trucks)

I have like five messages regarding this from Amazon in my inbox! Too much light, what's that mean?
