Anyone try Modifystreet headlights?

can anyone confirm whether or not this affects auto high beam?

I dont think these headlights, per say, will. But I have read that extra brightness/potential misalignment with replacement bulbs (going from halogen to HID or LED) might affect auto high beams.

I do think, though, that there is a calibration selection in AlfaOBD, but not sure if its valid for our trucks or even if it helps.

Thanks for the info!!!! When I've decided what heads, and tails I want, I'll likely wind up with Alfa obd.

How is the crispness with LEDs on these projectors? I know some are more sensitive than others. Speaking of, last weekend I upgraded my cargo bed lights with these 1500lmn per bulb LEDs and ended up having to use them to double-flash a pickup driving behind me for miles on the highway as he had upgraded his headlights and fogs to LED and it was both insanely bright (cool) and horrifically focused (not cool) lighting up signs overhead like highbeams and killing me with my driver's sidemirror which has no dimming functionality. Hopefully he got the message to get those focused/replaced, with my back LEDs likely being equally blinding, heh!

That's wrong, though. Its been that way since they first came out and alpha told me that feature is only on the f150 versions. Not sure why they never changed the description.

This is not true. I have spoken to Alpha as I am a reseller and we are building a set of lights together soon for the Ram. They are absolutely releasing a sequential version of these lights and they even sent me a early video of them in action.

I asked them myself what the updates were for gen2 and they said "smoked lense and lower DRL". But I do stand corrected, apparently the lower switchback DRL is also a *sequential* turn signal. AlphaRex did not mention that to me, so I figured it was not added (since thats a selling point one would figure they would advertise it well)

Still kinda bummed G2 only comes in smoked lenses....not 100% sold about it on my white/chrome truck.

On sale, you have a collaboration for a DIFFERENT set of lights, or were you referencing the current gen 2 which appears to have confirmed sequentials switchback, and dual drls... aka the full monty. Lol. I agree I'd rather non smoked lenses since one of the major reasons for wanting new lights is well.... more light and I am reticent to sacrifice any of it needlessly... don't NEED smoked lenses.

Pretty sure my route will be a set of Gen 1 in chrome and opening them up to swap out the existing DRL(s) with a sequential switchback strip.

Just a PITA that I need to do it, seems silly to force smoked only on the "newer" model.

Has anyone figured out how to override/bypass the "parking light out" notification without using AlfaOBD?

I finally got around to installing these this weekend, and taking out the stock headlights was super easy watching a youtube tutorial, but checking the contents of the box there's no instructions whatsoever. It says their website is www.modifystreet.com but this appears to be wrong. Anyone find a user manual?

The lights are made by AlphaRex, they have a website but no installation instructions on it. You might be able to reach out to them directly: https://alpharexusa.com

Awesome thanks, but yeah how are those of us with the intelligence of a potato supposed to figure this out without pretty pictures and what not... hate to put it all back together and have to wait another weekend. :(

Edit: Hah! I'm an idiot! The connector plugs into the bulb socket which goes into the hole, otherwise the headlight wouldn't be sealed. In my defense, I did suffer a recent head injury, but there's supposedly no permanent drain bamage.

Where it says “wrong connector”, you need to use the bulb socket from your original lights. The wires coming out of the new headlights plug into the old socket as if it were a bulb. Then clock the bulb socket into the new headlight housing.

Also, where it says loose no click, remove the little extension harness and plug the green connector directly into the one that actually comes out of the new housing.

Thanks! I actually just figured that out a moment ago, heh! Now I just have to read the thread again about where to plug in the gray wire from a little harness adapter I found inside the driver's side headlamp box (left one didn't have one). I assume the red and black wires go straight to the battery, and the gray needs to be spliced in somewhere.

High beam works and blinker works, but low beam not turning on (installing passenger side first), so I probably just have to read the thread again about where to plug in the gray wire from a little harness adapter I found inside the driver's side headlamp box (left one didn't have one). Did you add led's or hid's or are you using just the halogens?

If you are using led's double check the connections.

Grey wire goes to a keyed on fuse in the fuse box

Got it, everything is working perfect and DRLs are coming on and off when they should be splicing into fuse... except now the fitment is crap! So troubleshooting, it appears that where the bumper screws into the quarter, the stock headlamp doesn't touch this joint, but this headlamp assembly does because its seem is almost half an inch deeper and so prevents it from being pushed down far enough and thus has a huge gap, at least on 2009s. :(

Saw a set of Gen1s on a Rebel that was behind me at the Beacon Exit off of Interstate 84 in NY Friday night. They looked good on it.

Perhaps a difference between 2009-12 and 13+, as it seems there were a lot of little changes here and there.

I did try reinstalling the stock quads, and they go in super easy and are perfectly flush all around. *shrugs*

Its all together now, with the driver's also having a gap issue. I took the plastic wheel well out and can see it has no problems lining up with the slot that has the white slider you pull down, but can't see the ballpoint perfectly. For now I got it the best I could and am leaving it alone, and perhaps will take a file to it and notch it where its a problem.

They look great otherwise, but at least in the daytime the DRLs and blinker LEDs are not impressive on brightness, but functional, and its cool that they are sequential blink and switchback.
