Ok, so rewind about 3 months ago...I purchased a brand new roadrhino bumper for my truck...had a few issues with it on purchase, was supposed to be bare...it had some kinda green goo on it, like tinted bedliner...

Toss it on the truck...

came out alright after paintwork.. 550+ for the paint and finishing alone.

First real use of the bumper...and this happened...

I call them about it, Drive to their shop...and they make me a custom one off bumper, that is significantly reinforced...Looks even better..

Then...this happens tonight, trying to recover my buddies truck that got stuck....

And followed by this?!?!

At this point, i have $ 2705 dollars into this worthless ass setup, I am sure they will warranty it out again, but i dont want another one of these POS bumpers...It literally bent, and moved SO damn much, it destroyed the brand new paint on my drivers side fender...it moved SO damn much, it literally ripped the wires out of the HID offroad lights in the bumper...

I am honestly not sure how to go about this...The last bumper, was powdercoated by roadrhino in house to match my truck( cuz im sure they didnt wanna spend 550+ on another repaint)...

Im thinking they should reimburse my purchase price, plus the money i had to put out to paint the thing, and i will eat the rest of the costs...Anyone think this isnt fair? would i be asking too much? too little?

Good luck.

Most companies will simply claim abuse / not its intended purpose / and move on, leaving you hanging.

From your second pic, where you're stuck in the mud, the bumper looks OK. I'm guessing that as you were pulled out, the bumper acted like a scoop, and got hung up on a mud pile, pulling the bumper outward on the drivers side?

Can you take any pics of the mounts? The second bumper looks pretty stout, but it looks like the mounting leaves a lot to be desired.

I suppose you should have looked for a company called "Off Road Rhino" and not Road Rhino. :)

This is the exact purpose for this style of bumper, that is what you pay for. Even the owner admitted that when the first one got messed up, He jumped at the chance to replace it, and make it better for me.

The bumper never actually got into the mud, so it never acted as a scoop, as you say...If you look closely...you can see its far off to the passenger side, and in on the fender on the drivers side (the stuck in mud pic)

It literally moved all around while winching dependent on the winch angle we tried, i had no choice, as i had to get my truck unburied...

I will take pics of the mounts...they look exactly like the old bumpers did, which isnt pretty...here is a pic of the old bumpers mounts after it got bent..

As far as the offroad rhino comment, you do realize, this is basically the same company as road armor right?

I don't think you would be asking too much. I doubt you get your paint money back but I believe it's owed to you. That is absolutely ridiculous. I'm sorry you gotta go through this crap bud. That is a good lookin 2nd gen.

Exactly. The owner made it right already for you, he might not be so agreeable the second time, hence the sincere wishing of “good luck.”

As I say? You might want to re-read what I asked - hence the question mark, and the comment “I’m guessing”.

I can’t exactly tell what I’m looking at, i.e. which part is the truck vs. which part is the bumper. Is the darker black the bumper or the frame of your truck?

As far as the offroad rhino comment, you do realize, this is basically the same company as road armor right?

First – I understand that you’re not happy with the bumper, but remember to laugh a little. You’ll live longer. You've seen those "mall rated" stickers, haven't you?

Second – everyone’s definition of off road is a bit different. A Ford Raptor is “basically” a trophy truck, right? You might want to ask Ford and some PO’d Raptor owners what constitutes typical off road use vs. abuse, and why their frames bent when they hit a kicker at 100mph. Is that what the truck was intended for? Remember, it’s “basically” a trophy truck! PO’d owners say yes, truck should withstand that off-roading, Ford says NO, 100 MPH + kicker is abuse.

Seriously, good luck. It sucks when aftermarket parts don’t work as expected or intended. I get it. Just don’t expect your truck to become a tank after a bolt on bumper.

Third - right or wrong, if you give the shop owner the same attitude you gave me on your post, I would not be surprised one bit if he told you right where you could go. Be curtious to him, and just ask him what he thinks - he might offer a better solution than you are picturing.
