Thanks. I ordered 2 sets of spots. Once I pulled the tails off, I thought I might have goofed. Oh well. I'll order a set of side emitters for the tails and give the other spots to my dad for his cargo lights. Late bday present! LOL

No. I emailed him, and he said the relay isn't need for backup lights.

BTW: I bought these on May 1st, and they were here today.

As for tails.........we don't do em anymore fellas. :-|

And yeah, these are a LOT brighter than I expected. Work great for in the bed, reverse, DRLs, well you get the idea.

pricey? $65 a set, with the wiring......and it kills the WalMart specials. Its direct competitor is from Phillips, which retail around $200.

Can you post close up pics of how you mounted the brackets to your bumper?

I don't have any, but........it was simple. Self tapping screws right into the bumper.

I finally installed mine today. This is more of a temp install. I couldn't really find a place I was happy mounting them. So I temporarily mounted the lights to my license plate frame. I just drilled two holes in the dealer frame, where the two lower bolts would go. I then screwed the brackets into the frame and plate.

I made a T-harness, to tap power off of the OEM backup lights. This harness provides all of the power my backup lights need. I didn't have to splice any factory wires. I know it's not that big of a deal to tap the factory wires, but I prefer not to.

Here is the harness I made.

As you can see, a pretty big improvement in backup camera performance. Much less grainy. It wasn't even completely dark when I took these pictures.
