Back lit grill emblem

so after much thought, and looking at how the light was spread with the board. I decided to get a length of the rope type led's. cut it into three pieces and had my dad daisy chain them together. not exactly what i was going for when i first got the idea but i think it looks as good as i can get it.







i have the led's tapped in place in the pics. have to silicone the ends and wires so they are water proof and going to super glue them in place so the light position will vary slightly to finished product

think im gonna plastidip the grill too. the emblem has already been done.

Thanks Wendy, not exactly what I was thinkin when I started it. But at night from a distance I don't think it will look too bad

What about using blue acrylic? Would that maybe help spread the light out

Thanks ken. Luke, if I could get the frosted look too it it would help. I've sanded the **** out of it. Gonna work on it more later tonight. Will report back then

When I go see my cousin I will take a pic of the acylic he has for me. He was trying to find a use for it, and I think that this may be it. We put some light to it (one 5mm LED) and it spread it pretty good.

Sounds good Luke. Well I've silicone the exspoded solder, waiting for it to dry. Took the inserts out of the grill, cleaned it real good, about to attack it with plastidip......... someone stop me please lol.

well i wasnt really "finessing" it and my intentions were to paint it black but it broke on the last little piece. ah dammit time to find a new one...
