Backup Camera lines

Question: Are the interactive backup lines part of the stereo or the truck? Reason I ask is I have an 09 with a backup camera, but no lines. I am thinking about upgrading my stereo and wondered if it is possible to get the backup parking lines with a stereo upgrade.

Any inputs on a good stereo upgrade are welcome as well. Mine has the Alpine system in it now... just looking to upgrade head unit

I believe the BCM is what controls them Only a few aftermarket radios/adapters will let them be active grid lines.

That's right, you have to be tied into the BCM for the lines to be present
