Man I was 30 minutes from leaving to go pick up my finally lifted truck and the 4 wheel shopped called me to let me know somehow they ripped the CV Axle Boot. Said it was a freak thing they've never done before. I'm pissed. Now they're taking the whole Axle out to inspect for damage from I guess driving the truck when a good amount of the grease had come out. How concerned should I be? I'm by no means a mechanic.

You should be okay. It may have just been where the rubber on the CV was worn or rotten. The new angle the truck is sitting made it happen i would suspect. Be glad they told you and decided to look into it instead of letting you screw up more parts by not knowing. I would be happy they told me!

From his user info on the left, seems to be a 2015. I'd doubt the CV was worn or rotten. It's certainly possible that someone slipped and cut/damaged the boot. If the shop has a good reputation I wouldn't worry about it..

Apparently a wrench somehow put a hole in it...Who knows...They're replacing the axle now and offered me a lifetime warranty on it. A little piece of mind I guess. While it wasn't great news, I'm not going to let this ruin my day.

Sounds like a good shop, sucks that it's going to take some time but at least they found the problem before you took it home.
