Hey guys, just an informational post for those that may be experiencing or will experience this problem.

2017 1500 with only 62k miles. Truck was having problems starting in the morning’s or after it would sit for longer than 10 hours. My key fob would unlock and lock, but no power from the key fob to start the truck. No turning over, key fob just wouldn’t work. Took me about 10 minutes/50 tries yesterday to start up my truck, drove it straight to the dealer. Of course, they couldn’t reenact the problem. They kept it overnight and saw what I’ve been dealing with the last few days when they tried to start it this morning.. ended up being a bad WIN. $500 fix from the dealership.

Wireless ignition node.. or ignition. From what I understand it’s the electronic ignition part that detects your key. Didn’t know what it was either until today!

This was stated above:

There is confusion on this terminology

W.I.N.
Wireless Ignition Node , it is also called the Wireless Ignition Module

Now what is confusing is ...

Is it the Ignition Switch ??
Or is it the Module that is mounted on the rear of the Cab, next to the Cab Vent on the drivers side ??
(( Just discovered that the black box on the rear wall of the cab is actually called,
RF-HUB Keyless Entry ))

Ignition Switch video

What is also strange, the mechanics also call it the Wireless Control Module or WCM

I was trying to do research when it happened but they said it was a bad WIN. They also called it the WCM as well.. I will have to look at the paperwork for the exact terminology.
