BAK Revolver X2 Installation.

2019 Quad 1500 5.7 box. Has anyone installed one of these? I have the plastic factory bed rail covers. Maybe we all do.
My question is do I need to trim the sides off those? The instructions are vague about that point. What about the rail shims? Necessary?

Anything else I should think about?

My 2500 would have been a little different, but on it the shims were necessary but there was no trimming needed.
