Bak Revolver X4 after 7 years

I think my BAK Revolver X4 has finally given up after 7 years. it has mostly been a decent cover. leaked a bit, and was always tough to lock (really had to push on it, and the one side would hit the plastic on the tailgate no matter how I tried to adjust it). the felt came off a couple years ago and the other day there was a small tear starting on the fabric. rolled it up today and it was a little tougher than usual. when I unrolled it , it was totally ripped down one side and is all wonky now.

I've had the same cover for the last 6 years and it sounds like it's on the same trajectory as yours. My BIL purchased one, around the same time, and his is near the end as well. Let me know what you decide on when looking for a replacement.

I'm thinking I'll need to replace the bed rail caps and the tailgate spoiler cap if I decide to run without a cover.

yeah, I had a tri-fold that came with a previous truck, which was ok until it totally fell apart. taking it off when i needed the full bed was a pain. I love that this one rolls right up. they were both a pain in the winter with ice buildup but not sure I can get around that with any cover. for sure it wont be a soft cover so will just have to dive back in and see what is out there these days.

on the hottest day of the year so far here, the fabric was really coming off the aluminum and it was a sticky gross mess flopping in the wind. i ended up getting a BAKFLIP MX4 which was like literally the only tonneau any of the shops local to me had in stock. so back to a trifold for me. will be installing in when the sun is lower and it only feels slightly like hell outside lol

Yeah, you certainly don't want to install on a hot day. I'm sure it would be a bit toasty under the cover. One side of the fabric is hanging down on mine. I've been sticking it back up from time to time. Overall the the cover doesn't look too bad on the top surface but it's certainly seen better days.

yeah it sucked lol, so hot. the revolver cover looked great (except the logo) until a 2" rip along the edge last week. the suddenly it wouldnt roll up properly, then ripped along the entire edge on one side. the MX4 will never do that, but its sloghtly less convenient than a roll up version. my last tri-fold separated the last section at the hing. luckily it was one where you had to clamp it down at the tailgate or it might have flown off. hopefully this one lasts at least the same 7 years.
