Alright, looking at several different bed covers, and the Bak brand is looking the best, but I'm trying to decide between the bakflip or the rollbak (or whatever they're called). I like the simplicity of the bakflip and I like how it props against the window when fully open, which would be cool for hauling things like 4wheelers in case the securing mechanism used (we tend to improvise in MS sometimes lol) gives and allows the ATV to roll. That is also its downside... I like seeing what's going on in my bed when there is big stuff in it. On top of it, its cheaper than its rolling counterpart.

so, my question is how much room does the bakflip take up on its last section before its propped against the window. I'm guessing 2 feet and some change on the regular cab bed, leaving around 4 feet to play with?

not bad, would it leave enough room for a small/mid size ATV?

Looks like it might rub the paint on the back of the cab when folded all the way up. Anyone noticed this?

There are foam pads that you put on so it won't scratch the paint

Hi There

I just bought the bakflip G2 for my 2012 Dodge Ram. Mine only uses up 6" of my bed when it is tipped up leaving the rest wide open.

No problems with mine. I have the HD. It only takes less thann a foot of the bed just at the top and the thickness of the cover when fully folded up. If you want to remove it its easy to remove

Get the BakFlip.

It'll serve you well for many years to come. Excellent product that's constructed to last, looks great and BakFlips customer service [unlike their instruction manuals] are the best in the industry.

Good luck.

Well I think I'm sold. I was considering the rollbak but I can save $200ish by going with the flip.

I think i like that one better then the one i got. Mine lays on the bed when its folded back. The price was the selling point on the 1 i got.
