Battery Light

I have a 2012 dodge ram laramie. If I leave the truck parked for a couple of days when i go and start the truck the battery light comes on. I installed a new battery and same outcome. As i drive the truck i can see that the alternator is charging the battery as the needle increases. Did anyone experience this problem before looking for a few ideas to see what the problem is. Thanks

Check the Batt voltage while running it should be 13.8 to 14.3 I believe if not then you might have a weak alternator. With the motor off it should be about 13.2 VDC
